No Canopy, too big for my Machine.. I would go ahead and order a second one before they get gone if you plan on cutting yours. They don't keep many spares...

Who has spares? TBM and VQ don't list them.

Hey Sess you might reconsider using the ca hinges...they may hold for a while but with the vibration and overall forces they may not hold up for very long[]

The Japanese manufacturers reduced weight and did not use primer. It's why the camouflage paint chipped off easily. But some planes on the pics look like new. Like the ESM Raiden.

Really nice plane, I would like to get on. According to YT in UK the Raiden might be the fastest plane in the new 50cc range.

Hey guys I need a little help. To anyone that has this plane. I need a couple measurements to see if they are all made close to the same. Some former can be off up to a 1/2 inch or more sometimes. I need to make a pocket for the former toward the headrest section. Even if you have not cut it for a cockpit kit. I need you to measure from the former to the 90 degree angle. Here is a pic of the area. Mine varys a 1/4" from one side to the other....

My former is glued in crooked. It is about 1/8 inch away from that 90 degree step on the starboard side and 1/2 inch away from the port side.

I got all of my servos (HS-5645MG digitals). I also mixed some matching touch up paint and painted the areas on the insides of the ailerons and elevators where ESM had lot numbers written. Also have an EI G-62 coming this week. Construction starts tomorrow.

Got my powerplant today. It's a Zenoah G-62 with an electronic ignition. I bought a longer prop hub (2 3/16th) but it still is not quite long enough to hide everything.

As it is now my options are to either open up a hole next to the scoop on the cowl for the plug boot or to slightly rotate the engine a few degrees so that the plug boot sits in the scoop.

The only downside to rotating the motor a few degrees is that the exhaust stacks will be slightly further up the cowl.

Does anyone have a source for a slightly longer prop hub?

You could always place a blister where the plug boot will exit the cowl. On warbirds there are alwayys bumps and blisters in assorted areas.

Unfortunately it doesn't have one where I'd need to put one.

thats the beauty of it all, its an ARF and who is gonna know the difference? If sone right, it will look like its supposed o be there. It sure will be better than a hole in the cowl or beat the price of an extension.

It doesn't matter that it is an ARF. I plan on fully weathering and giving it the scale treatment, so if I can avoid extra holes I certainly will!

Thanks for that link. I did a quick mock up and I can see that even the 3 inch won't be long enough. I'll just rotate the motor 3 degrees.

Hi Sess, the extension on mine is a home brew job, just long enough so that the rotated engine has the plug cap in the oil cooler scoop. Although in normal running, the motor will not give any issues if everything is balanced, but the problem will be if the model is nosed over hard or similar, since the extra leverage will almost certainly either bend the crank or knock the two halves out of line. The Raiden however shows no signs of wanting to nose over so I'm willing to put up with the risk. Could you extend the scoop slightly? I'm guessing my extension is about 4" but I'll get you a definate measurement if you like? Heres a pic of my Z62 installation and cowl cooling set up.

Hope it helps, Ian.
