here is an old movie for you warbird buffs. 1st time I have ever heard or seen in a movie where the Mustang was referred as a F-51. Even the tail retract did nt work. might hav been a F-51K.

I believe it was in the Korean War when the USAF dropped the "P" and switched to the "F" designation for its fighters. The mustang was used early in the war in the fighter and ground attack role by both the US and South Korea. Late model Mustangs were the F-51H and K variants.

Ram you sat through that whole movie??? the F-51 is seen at 50:30,,, pretty cheesey b movie,, even for that era
