Well Brother's,
After all day in the workshop and lots of T.L.C, my Spit is back!!!
It was not as bad as I was thinking on the day it went in. I had to rebuild the motor box and firewall. The plane went in nose first and rip the nose off at the box. I check the rest of the fuse and found no damage!! Wow, was I lucky, Here are a few shots of how she look now. Yes she has been in a war and will live to fly again. Hope to maiden her this weekend and I will let the hood know how it went. I love this plane!!!

Sonny,

I am glad you were able to repair the Spitfire. Sometimes it takes an extra day to reflect before we realize they can be put back in service.

By the way, is that a Cessna 310 sitting in the photo?

Thanks, WARBIRDRCER, and yes that is the Cessna 310 sitting there. Just finish working on the retracts and working gear doors.

thanks. That was my first plane with digital servo's ,so between the wind blowing and me over controlling the elevator , it was kinda ok landing . she did fly really good though. One thing you should do is use the flaps. once it hits ground effect it turns into a floater big time. and when you taxi , you must put them up as you can see by the video leaving them down wants to roll the nose up and over.

Thanks for the vid . Now thats the way a airshow should be .   The one thats local to me is so lame  , sure  we get our Mustangs and what not , but the flight line is far away , you might as well be at a RC show   In fact , the guys that fly Rc before the show starts , get a more positive reveiw than  the full size show . This fact has not been lost on me ... I might have something up my sleeve

You should have seen Geneseo in the day it was huge. because of economy ,it's hard to get the aircraft there anymore though they still do a good job. I remember when they would have 3-4 b-17's a Lancaster and a bunch of 25's and 51's . just a ton of stuff. they had this year the old trusty helldiver back . a really rare bird indeed. i'd post the whole video but it's 45 min. long

We don't get lots of warbirds in my corner of the world... but the Spitfire pilot I've seen flying is pretty good:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6S-CX4BvBNM

It is not my video but I was there.

I heard he's bringing a P-51 this year.

I really like the Mk.XVI Spits. I had a chance to sit in RW382, coded NG-C, before it was destroyed in a crash back in 1998. The Spit in your video is RW386 and coded NG-D so a very close cousin!

cool , glad you liked it. i am lucky to live so close to a great show. they are trying hard to recover the fame of years past. It is the former National Warplane Museum. they had a nasty split years ago and took the b-17 "Fuddy Duddy" with them . i got a chance to ride in her and i will never forget it. The movie variant " The Memphis Belle" now lives there along with a real D-day vet a C-47 that was a lead ship in the invasion of Normandy . i live 5-10 miles off the approach end of the runway and they fly over my place a lot.
