Hey Mike, Hows it going? The spinners are custom laid up fiberglass, with a heavy backplate. Chuck was in charge of the spinner I only know that they came from down SOUTH. As far as the wood list I will dig up the "rough order" list that we used it is not a complete list though.

Going well..thanks...Chuck mentioned that he had something done up for the spinners. I'll talk more to him about it I'm sure. Looks like the wood list is pretty standard Ziroli "fare" in terms of what it takes. I haven't looked that closely at the plans yet, but it looks pretty similar to the Stuka wood requirements from first glance. Thanks for checking though.

Okay Brotherhood,

One of our squadron members sent this to me for our use. He said it is a place to start and suggestions/improvements are welcome, so the forum is open for discussion.

Keep in mind it will be placed on a blue shirt.

Looks Good, I agree, put the design on the Shirt Back without the 'Spitfire Brotherhood' wording, just the plane and circle of flags; Then, place 'Spitfire Brotherhood' wording on the Front Right Shirt area, opposite/same height of the Pocket that may be on the Left; the wording could be 'SPITFIRE' over top of 'BROTHERHOOD', and we could individually customize it with our name and Brotherhood#.

WARBIRDRCER;
I like this one!!! Like mistermnkim said in his post this will look good on the back of the shirt with the word Spitfire on the front. It would be up to us to put our number on it.
I vote "YES"!!!

Scott send me something with the shade of blue you want to use and we can re-do the artwork to look closer to what it will be on the shirt.

Mission accomplished 1.5 year of work on and off "et voila!".
Maiden flight was last Saturday, took off at about 300ft no lack of power even at 5280ft. Flew couple paterns, the engine was a bit to lean resulting in a dead stick gear up landing on the grass. Not much damage, just cosmetic that is now repaired. Next flight tomorrow!
CARF Spitfire, 102" WS, 42lbs, 3W85 XICS engine, Modified Bisson Pit muffler, Integrated engine cooling ducting from larger wing scoop, sealed carburetor intake from the smaller scoop, full detailed cockpit, sliding canopy, painted with Klass-Kote, painted graphics, no decals.
Next project Mike reeves 1/4 scale Spitfire, inline 110 3W, scheme will be a Mk IX bear hauler

Great job on the Spit and congrat on the maiden flight. Glad you had a grass strip to land on. I love picture #3. That is a sweet shot. Have a safe fight tomorrow and no more gear up landing!!!

SPITFIRE VICTORY!

My dream big Spit will feature the kind of sound system discussed by other
big bird fighter pilots on videos. Thorium plasma batteries (simply type the words into Yahoo or Google search windows) should become available as soon as enough preasure is put on the "powers that be." Never have so many known so much about the dirty tricks of so few so fast.

Once the new unbelievably light and powerful batteries become available there will be no excuse for me to not install my retracts in my PZ Mk IX Spitfire. There will also be no excuse for me to not get enough practice flying in to become a competent fighter pilot.

Please check out the revolutionary future of power possibilities and share your own dreams. THE SPITFIRE BROTHERHOOD ROCKS!!!

Out.

"mad thorium batteries" typed into YAHOO search brings up the new battery technology that will make me a SPITFIRE ACE! I will fly for hours of practice at a time and eventually become very skilled with my Spit. So all you Huns out there better watch out!

My little helper; Spitfire Brotherhood 1.5 and I put a flight on his Spitfire today. The weather was looking grim, there were some rain drops, but he would not take aborting the mission for an answer, so we flew. Really glad we did because it put the right touch on a great day at the field.

I for one would like more information, maybe some pics of the cooling ducting you mention please? The CARF Spitfire is one of my bucket list builds and cooling is key in these large birds.

WARBIRDCER;
Congrat on your son maiden flight today!!! We had rain today, so I was in the shop working on the Top Flite Gold Edition Spitfire MK IX kit. The stab and elevator are done and I am thinking of going with robart hinges and not the CA hinges that the manual call for. What do you think?? I will post pictures of the stab and elevator if you like. One thing I must say, they did a great job on the manual.
Again, congrat on your son maiden flight!!!

Here you go!! Make sure you go through and check the wood in the kit. I found alot of the winging sheeting that was warp bad, but some steam and a flat work table and some books, bring them back into shape!! I will post more as the build move on!!
