Jet,
Just consider your first coat a "filler" coat. I'd give it a healthy sanding and then lay my glass on and epoxy again. A little trick I use on the glass cloth, is to very lightly apply some 3M super 77 spray adhesive to the backside of it(headliner glue) this allows you to position your glass cloth and not have it move during the application of the zpoxy.

Yep, the spray adhesive trick works great I also buy a deck of playing cards to use as squeegies to apply the epoxy with. take off as much of the resin as you can with a playing card, catch what you take off in a cup and apply it elsewhere. You would be suprised just how little it takes to glass a plane
To me, that spit in the bones, looks like a P40 from few different angles.

Very nice sound. I would like to visit a Duxford museum.
Two years ago I saw FW-190 and Spitfire Mk VIII CW, and Mk XIV which flew together. It was nice.

Question to the Brotherhood;
Looking at the last video that Brother Andreas post, do you think that the P-51 and the Spitfire was a even match in a dog fight?? Looking at the vid, to me the spit was holding its own with the P-51.
Please do not start fights over this question Just want to see what other brothers feel about these two war birds!!

The Spitfire can out turn the P-51 any day of the week, but the P-51 had the advantage when it came to maximum speed. If both were put together in a dog flight, the winner would depend upon which pilot was the most expierenced in dog fighting.

Roger Roger, being as we are all family here and know just how great Spitfires really are, I'm sure a little brotherly sporting fun with air warfare concepts will not only not cause fights but might even help inspire a wholesome spike in excitement about our favorite fighters. My question is: "With the same fuel load would the Spitfire still have a turning advantage at some or all air speed situations?"
Thank you in advance for information I know some of you can supply for my growing arsenal of air fighting facts that I find to be so useful as attention getting teaching aids along with our fighters to create interest in "unpopular" reality.
Breaking off the attack now.
Out.

Update for so far today, sheeting started on the left side of the fuse. Interior kit arrived Thursday so while the glue and forming the sheeting is drying i am getting started on the interior parts. The yoke is going to be replaced with a couple of pieces of aluminum tubing PFM'd together.

Looking good Steve.
I like how you mod your yoke!! The one that come with the kit, just don't look right and is a pain to glue together!!!
Took today to sand the fuse and wings, so I can start laying the cloth tomorrow!!!
Anyone watch the Nationwide race?? Bad crash on the last turn before the finish line. Some people in the stands did get hurt!!

That was a terrible wreck. Makes one wonder... Do you really want to sit close to the track?
Left side fuse sheeting is trimmed enough to begin the right side. Thought i would add a picture of one of the most versatile tools in my shop. A good ole shaving brush. It is great for dust at the workbench and cleaning up your transmitters, uses are endless (maybe ) for this inexpensive item.

I believe i have found a pilot figure that will work. This is an old Gentlemen and Officers (or vice versa) pilot from my old 101" Ziroli B-25, he was used as the nose gunner and still has a bit of B-25 wood adhered to his back.

RE: Spitfire Brotherhood (All Spitfires Welcome)
Hi Steve,
I like the way you are building your yoke. Definetly strong and good looking.
I used Goop to put my two half pieces together not knowing that it eats that material.
By sheer luck the glue dried out faster than the plastic deformed and softened.
I would not have been a happy camper if the plastic would have deformed into a
ball of goo.
What does PFM'd stand for?
I have not come across this one yet.
I see that the fuselage is coming along nicely.
The pilot figure looks good too and seems to be the right size.
I had a few snags with the topflite cockpit and pilot install back when I was at that stage of my build.
There had to be quite a few cuts and add on's made in order to make it fit.
However, that was because it's made for Topflite, not Hangar 9.
It worked out in the end.
Looking forward to your status reports.
Andreas

Thanks Andreas. PFM is a silicone (i believe) based adhesive. I have had this tube for several years. I don't use it a lot but it does come in handy from time to time. There is a fellow that sells it on RC Groups here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1837793

RE: Spitfire Brotherhood (All Spitfires Welcome)
Hi Steve,
thanks for letting me know.
I think it's about the same stuff as what I use on some
items called Goop.
It's like a silicone clear adhesive that bonds to just about anything and
stays just a little bit flexible. When too much force is applied, it can be
removed and does not leave any residue behind.
If you rub the dryed adhesive, it will rub off the surface.
