Anyone know where I can find a replacement canopy for a large Pica (1.20/1:5 scale) size? Have one I am refurbishing and would like to remove the canopy to get to the cockpit, but before I do I want to find a replacement in case I break it.
Thanks

I have a Yellow Spit Canopy kicking around. It is untouched as I am doing the bubble version. PM me and we can figure out how to get it to you.

My Feedback: (1)
I am rebuilding Spitfire that a former club member had. The make I have no idea and he said it was some company that is no longer in business. It is a 1/5 scale 80 inch wingspan length 65 inches and the width of the wing is 19 inches from leading edge to trailing edge. What is a good starting point for the CG? And also I'm looking for some exhaust stacks for this bird.
Thanks,

I can't help you with the Make and Model, but for exhaust stacks, you could try looking at Horizon Hobby for repair parts for their Spitfire 60. There are also a couple of air scoops that you might be able to use. This is a 1/7 Scale spitfire and yours is a 1:5 Scale, so the size may be off, but you'll at least have the illusion....

FYI, these are just simple plastic pieces, not fiberglass.
Just my $.02

The Sea Spitfire shown here was at Oshkjosh, and I had the pleasure of judging this beautiful machine, if memory serves it did win Best Foreign Fighter Category. The Tail wheel was even correct and that is unusual being they are scarce as hens teeth.

Hi Warbirdrcer,
How about a Spitfire sister?
I have two Spitfires, one is the ESM 72" model with a DLE30. I fly this on a regular basis, often in hot pursuit of a BF-109 and FW190 in the same scale. My other Spitfire is a Pica 1/5[SUP]th[/SUP] scale model which I am refurbishing. I purchased the already built Pica Spitfire a couple of years ago which was originally setup for a Moki 180. I am about 75% done on converting it to a DLE55RA and bringing it back to being airworthy.
Regards,
Jaz

Let's try this again.
Thanks Terry, here is yet another attempt to post a Spitfire picture. Hopefully, whoever keeps removing my pictures will eventually get tired and/or scared of being caught. At the moment my PC is displaying all of the most recent pictures on RCU fighter threads. You have confirmed that the kind of inconsistencies that are occurring here are identical to what is happening on my Facebook Timeline where many of my airplanes/science pictures are feared very much like Dracula is terrified by "the sign of the cross." It's amazing how two Radio Shack magnets, a steel ball, and an upward inclined ramp demonstrating FREE ENERGY phenomena can be so scary to the establishment. Why its enough to make a body think there just might be some fire with all that smoke.
Breaking off the attack now.
Over and out. (Yes, I know about Hollywood's license here, but it just seemed like too much fun to not use it.)

Jaz, welcome!
I'm speechless with positive emotions about the Brotherhood's new Sister! I love your little Gee Bee. A "large size Park Flyer" version Gee Bee with a new high tech receiver discussed in earlier posts will soon be added to my arsenal of attention getting demonstrator science enrichment modeling promoting teaching aids.
Thank you for such a great spiritual boost with your very presence!
Still speechless!

Jaz

Jaz, welcome!
I'm speechless with positive emotions about the Brotherhood's new Sister! I love your little Gee Bee. A "large size Park Flyer" version Gee Bee with a new high tech receiver discussed in earlier posts will soon be added to my arsenal of attention getting demonstrator science enrichment modeling promoting teaching aids.
Thank you for such a great spiritual boost with your very presence!
Still speechless!

Hi brothers, I have one basic question. What difference is between variants of Spitfire:
L.F. Mk IXc, H.F. Mk IXc
L.F. Mk IXe, H.F. Mk IXe
F Mk IX.
I suppose, that L.F. means Low Flight (Spitfires CW- clipped wings) and H.F. means High Flight. But which mark of Spitfire Mk. IX had spiky rudder and which had round shape of rudder? I´ll be glad for some 3D pictures. Sometime I find a picture of Spitfire Mk IXe with spiky rudder and on the another page I see Spitfire Mk IXc also with spike rudder:
Here is some example.

okay.. today was my second re-maiden of the Clark Spitfire (115 in wingspan, 110cc twin inline Clark, 24X10 3blade). It took off a little tail heavy so I pushed the nose down and the plane freaked out... If I pulled up it would veer right, if I pushed it over it would skid left, tried to keep it in the air and left it wide open to keep up the speed with the drastic elevation changes...couldn't keep the wings level if I touched the elevator. got her around but couldn't keep my elevation and was halfway up the runway, 20 feet up, so I tried another lap... almost lost it several times but got her around to final 25 feet up and gingerly tried to nose her over and she nosed dived for the deck.. full up, full left rudder, and full right aileron put her 3 feet of the deck, chopped the throttle and she did a perfect mains landing and rolled out down the centerline.
The axles between the aft bulkhead and the one behind the cockpit for both elevator and rudder pull pull were both now flexing so badly that any movement on the elevator moved the rudder and vice versa. I'm cutting into the carbon fiber/fiberglass fuselage this week under the horizontal stab to get to the back and I'm gonna try arrow shafts from Jet Hanger hobbies with 4 40 ends and Sullivan clevis and ditch the pull pull entirely. I'm also going to move my batteries forward about 6 inches and add a pound of weight over the motor.
wish me luck.. I'm pretty sure I used all the luck I had saved up saving this bird today.

I am so sorry for the mix up. I have been side tracked with work and my RCU stopped sending me messages about thread postings. The last I received was back awhile ago on page 137. Welcome aboard and it is great to have a sister in the mix.
