It's a unique prop design. Has a symmetrical airfoil and a cusped trailing edge. Definitely a Go-Fast prop. Works with G-62's and 55cc DLE's. You might find a picture on APC's website.

I cannot help you with plans as I have also asked for some copies but I do have some photos of the retract mounts in my Pica Spitfire wing.

My Pica Spitfire has developed a stress crack in the wing so have removed some sheeting to repair and strengthen. Whilst there am going to rake the gear further forward to improve the ground handling.

Good luck with yours and if you get your hands on plan copies I would really love it if you could shoot them my way as well

Looks like it could work. But check how much room you have for batteries, 6,7 or 8s and see what size prop you would have to use (ground clearance) so as to have a cool fly even if you are at full throttle the entire flight.

Hi Jaz,
Just a thought before you replace the sheeting. Remove your air tanks and air lines from under the sheeting. I run paper tubes through the ribs from the wheel well to the center of the wing bay. Relocate the air tanks in the center wing bay and leave the top sheeting off I run the air lines through the paper tubes. This way you have access to everything if you ever develop an air leak, which we all know happens. LOL. Also I would replace all air lines before you button it up. Happy flying.

Just finished up my ESM 72" Spitfire MKXIV before the weather went to winter....put a DLE 35RA in her, by all accounts should be a great flier! Only 4 more months until a springtime maiden! Do I still qualify for brotherhood?

Good start Elcorro I once had the P40 Warhawk 60 zise,but it never flew that great But for Spitfires,it looks like,if you have the CG right,its one of the best planes to fly.

Its a ASP motor,and I dont know how reliable it is,but maybe someone got some know-how with it ?

Thanks for the comments Tom, what size is the ASP you have on your Spit? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like an older version of a OS Surpass. I have an Surpass 70 on my shelf, and I must say that once you have the low speed needle set , they are hard to beat when it comes to reliability. Here are some pictures of my Spitfire build so far. The tail feathers are done, but I used Robart hinges, and did a bit of a scale look as well. The retracts are from Hobby King with struts from them as well.

ASP 4-strokes are Surpass rip-offs.
In general they work fine, in rare cases you might have one that doesn't tune well. In most cases that has to do with some air leak in the carb, so either get a new carb (cheap) or check all o-rings, needle housing etc. to fix that leak.

Thanks for your compliments.

I do tend to shock a few of the guys with my passion for larger Warbirds and Gee Bee's. Cannot quite get into mid wing sports planes or 3D flying. There is not a huge amount of women flying bigger planes here in Australia and it is funny going to a new club and having them say they have heard all about me! My reputation proceeds me which is scary.

My four year first flight anniversary is coming up this April.

Your Seafire looks great. I had one of those as my first balsa plane running a Scorpion brushless on 6S which I sold about 12 months ago to fund bigger projects. They are so cool being that little bit different.

Hi Fred,

Interesting idea about the paper tubes. I was thinking of leaving the tanks where they are and adding a couple of small hatches to access them. The air lines are definitely being replaced as well as the old servo leads which are thin and have no safety clips on.

So far I have the new rear spar in and now cutting slots for the new front spar. Once that is in then will be turning to the retract mounts to get the wheels further forward.

The new rear spar added 90 grams to the wing which is nothing.

Derek, the retracts from HK are the Turnigy 90 degree all metal outboard rotating , and the struts are 60-90 120mm in length. When I ordered the struts, I took the wrong measurements in length, I should have ordered the 110mm. It's not that the 120mm ones won't work, it's that mounting them will be a bit more closer to the inboard of the wings. And the way I understand it is, that would be closer to a more scale location anyway!

Jass I had to redo my retracts on my 89 inch spit because the top sheeting started to crack above the mounting blocks.I glued 1/16 ply between the ribs to the top sheeting. then tied the landing gear blocks to that . sorry no pix.

And I must say,that those HK retracts,sure look good It sure looks like you are a fast buielder too.

The design of the Spit,is not mine. I am no way near the skills of making such a nice plane,out of nothing. Its a Escale model !

I was too young to remember the Battle of Britain but remember watching dog fiights with ME 109s later. At school we knew famous pilots names just as well as cricketers and soccer players.

  Ian Cheeseman I remember, as a very young child, being taken to our air raid shelter at the bottom of our garden and being put to bed there during the period just after the Battle of Britain, when London was the main target for the Luftwaffe. We lived just south of London all through the war. RAF Fighter Command needed a break, though London, and elsewhere suffered.
