Sorry I missed your post, mine is balanced 5.5" back from the leading edge. I had to add about 5 lbs of steel plate to the nose, but the thing flies awesome, I can't say enough about how great it is. I have 158 flights on my Vantex Spitfire!

If you could add me that'd be great. I'm new to flying RC but not new to RC Spits (and a Durafly and Dynam Spitfire and Hurricane on the way). I've a few that I bought over the years because they were Spits and I'm leaning to fly on an Apprentice 15E and a FU4 Corsair both with the SAFE system. I'm putting a SAFE system in my big Parkzone Spit once I get brave enough and I've built up my spares. I've got all sorts of Spits in all scales as plastic and metal kits too. I've read and got probably every book on Douglas Bader and he's one of my heroes. I've got a few of his signed prints and I've also got all sorts of bits off of 1:1 Spitfires in my hobby room. Basically, I live and breathe Spitfires...

I want to tank everyone here I was having trouble last year with flaps trim on my H9 60 size spit. with your help I got them ironed out to my satisfaction. I tried the flap sys on my 9503 but just did not like the on off vs slider so now i', using the slider then adding 5 clicks of down trim. to aid me in remembering where to put the trim back to once everything is powered off in the pits I have the flight E trim right on the center mark so its always easy to reset.

thanks again
Joe

Hey guys any help here would be appreciated. I recently purchased and rebuilt a Meister spitfire that had been modified into a Mk.XVI. The bubble canopy was destroyed and I'm in need of a new one. I'm striking out in locating anyone who makes or sells one. its roughly 1/4.5 scale. Any info or ideas of where to get one would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Unfortunately it won't. Meister only makes the Mk. V canopy that the planes original design was. Mine was changed to a Mk. XVI which has a bubble canopy. When they converted it they used a Spychalla aviation canopy that fit perfectly. Sadly I'm not having any luck contacting Mr Spychalla to see if he still makes them.

New member here. I have the seagull 30cc spit powered by a NGH 38cc 4 stroke and replaced the stock mechanical retracts with hobby king electric ones which are a awesome drop in replacement and only cost $25 for the pair! The combo flies pretty scale and you'll appreciate a heavier 4 stroke over a 2 stroke engine for better scale type sound and also to eliminate dead nose weight. I've not had to use any dead weight to get a good CG. I couldn't fit a F-15 turbine and a larger WWII scale warbird I already had in my SUV at the same time so I got the slightly smaller Spit as it shoehorns in and it really looks good and can't beat the price.

Safe landings!

Please add me to the list. I am new to this but have always thought the Spitfire was in a class by itself. Have flown the PZ Spit, the FMC 1400, and am in the middle of building the H9 30cc.

Thanks!

Help wanted please

Hi All
I recently purchased a Pica 1\5th scale Spitfire MK lX kit
and I'm intending to kit-bash it into a MK XlV or XVlll as these later versions of the spitfire are seldom modeled. I need a suitable Spitfire bubble canopy and a Griffon engine type cowl. Has anyone got a crashed Yellow Aircraft fuselage with the whole nose section more or less intact?
I know that Leo Spychalla Aircraft did a conversion kit for the yellow aircraft spit that included the bubble canopy. I tried to contact him but received no reply.
Can any one help out??

Regards
Dave

Leo's email is [email protected]. I just got a couple bubble canopies from him last week for my Meister Spitfire that was converted to a mk.XVI. Just email him. Might take a day or two to hear back but he'll write you. Great quality canopy!

For a 1/5 Spitfire Mk XIV or XVlll, you could also contact "fokke". He has a 1/5 Spitfire Mk XIV thread here, and I believe he is able to provide plans, kits and parts http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-w...5-fokkerc.html

This is my first Meister but I can defiantly say it's a fantastic plane. I can see a Meister P-47 in my future to join this Spitfire.

MARK CUTHBERT/UK PRESS VIA GETTY IMAGES

Battle of Britain: Flypast With Around 40 Planes in UK Commemorates 75th Anniversary of WWII Battle
An estimated 40 planes from around the world participated in the flypast at Goodwood Aerodrome in West Sussex on Tuesday. The battle is typically remembered on the third Sunday in September.

Thank you Spitfire brethren for your steadfastness in spite of all the resistance to the values that makes our mutual love for the Spitfire and what it represents for mankind worth fighting for.

Does anyone know what kit/arf this is? I was looking through the thread images and came across this. I remember before rcu was purchased by internet brands that you used to be able to find a picture and then click on the link to the thread. I guess this does not exist anymore or I cannot figure out how. Either way, does anyone know?

That pic is one of a Ziroli design, it was built by Chuck Hamilton. You can get this in a number of ways, plan only, plans and some prats like cowl canopy etc, and then you can get a full kit from Ziroli. https://ziroligiantscaleplans.com/

I'm planning to build the TF 60 size kit Spitfire this winter. For retracts I was thinking about using Eflite 60-120 81 degree for the BF109. Would these work and has anyone put these retracts in this plane?
