RE: DeHavilland Mosquito 81
Alright you have made up my mind then I will have to cut some kind of a hole in the cowl anyway for COOLING so I think I'll go with my first thought and put the OS FS- 95V four stroke and have plenty of power!!I have been back and forth with this and now I think this is how I'll go thanks for your input Duplicator41.

Roughly about a 1/2 H.P. depending on weather, prop, fuel, altitude and how well they are broken in.
Cheers,

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito 81
So you think it will fly scale like with the 52's?
ORIGINAL: Duplicator41
Keep in mind that B.T. flew his originally on a couple of FS 40's which were marginal, he changed to a couple of FS 48's and it flew well. Yours should be a rocket at half throttle on the 95's.
Cheers,

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito 81
That may be borderline at that weight for the 52's. Think about the OS .62's. They will probably swing a three blade 12 x 7 prop at around 9K. Just my opinion but it gives you more power margin. But then I've never overpowered my scale planes, it's just a personal preference.
Cheers,
Great build by the way.

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito 81
Good for you. One more thought for you, when you break them in and for your flying, I follow the recommendations of Brian Winch. He's the authorized service center for Saito in Oz. He never uses any fuel with castor oil in it. therefore no gumming up of the valves or burnt on gunk. He recommends Cool Power all synthetic. Having said this, I'm sure it will start up lots of controversy on fuels.

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito 81
Thanks again Duplicator41....Makes sence to me that's all I run in my Honda synthetic oil and it's never had anything else, except what they put in there from the factory! I was looking at tower s prices and it's about $105 for four gals.
Well I made some more mods. to the frame work on the canopy the aft bit is not stock the small triangles on the rear arch are scale. T he part on the aft end wont be seen very much but was a must for the glazing or I would have kept breaking it, I found some half round plastic strip here in the house (it's window screan splin) and should work real nice to blend the plexi w/ the FUSE I'll show that later after I finish the glazing.

I glued the aft section glazing on you can see the glue if you look real close and some still has to dry more, there's a photo of the glue used for this and the cladding also.

I started to work on the pilot figures they were very heavy so I removed a whole bunch from the inside by drilling and grinding and since they were 1/7th scale I have made some hight adjustments.

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito 81
If you get Century Jet pilot figures be ready to do some custom workA lot of drilling and grinding and detail work on these, CHECK THE AMOUNT OF MATERIAL REMOVED!!
The pilot w/ the mask his head phones are to big and I'll be grinding them down to look like the other figures!
