The subject about covers my thought WHY is there no scale diamond thread tires 4.5 inch dia to use on say the 'giant scale'Top Flite P-47 or the Miester scale P-47 or the Yellow Aircraft P-47 . There is a market out there-Its such a WASTE going through all the building and detailing only to have to settle on Non scale None Diamond thread tires. Some folks say its the tooling process and the $ involved Robart years ago introduced Diamond thread tires ,which iIthink are still available UNFORTUNALLY there are NO 4.5 inch Dia diamond thread tires,and larger . The Divinci ones do not measure up, that said, To re-cap most all P-47s in the second WW had diamond threadtires. I think there will be a profit to be made for the manufacture who tools up and produces 4.5" and up diamond thread tires . Franks Monster scale P-47s covered in the "current issue of "Fly R/C certainly has them. So come on Frank we KNOW you love P-47s as do I so why not tool up and produce them?? I will bet that a lot of current owners of the 80-85' wing span P-47s either already built or being built will go for the diamond threads.[8D]

Glennis makes scale diamond tread wheels for the P-47 from 4 1/2" to 7"

I agree, There is a market for diamond treaded tires 4-1/2" and up at "reasonable" prices. The ones that are available cost just as much as full size automobile tires.

Holly cow... 95$??? you still need wheels for those tires... Funny thing I was jut looking around for tires for my TF GS P47, the foamies that come with it are rather dull...

A ton?...seriously, that is 2,000 pounds. I think you exaggerate . Seriously....Glennis is worth the price if you want scale! The best bang for the buck in the world of scale.

I make my own

Take the Robart tire
and cut the diamond tread yourself
'I use a dremel tool
Looks great and everyone always ask WHERE can they get a set
try it
it is not that hard
