Thanks Orion! I did open up the chin front opening a bit... I'm wondering how much cooler it will run in the air vs on the ground.

Unfortunately, it didn't cool very much based on the telemetry I'm getting back. I have the sensor on the top fin close to the spark plug in the back.

Hello,

Trying to revive this thread as I just acquired a NIB 80Ē and want to build it with a DLE35. Any and all feedback would be awesome on the engine cooling and authority, stock retracts (have retract servos) and any issues I should cover while building.

Regards

Well, I finally finished my H9 Mustang. All electric (Eflite Power 160 motor, 120 amp CC ESC, APC 19X10 prop. Plan to fly on 10S for now.

I refinished mine in the Capt William Whisner's, "Moonbeam McSwine" livery of the 352nd FG/ 486th FS. Ultracote and matching latex paint from Ace Hardware was sprayed on the chin cowl and spinner. I also added Tony Howard's scale exhaust and oil cooler covers. Robart 4" aluminum scale wheels and electric retracts. Turbo Supercharger exit door was fashioned out of aluminum, as were the landing gear doors.

Callie's awesome graphics.

I still need to balance her and then maiden. Here are some pics...

Default Robart electric retracts for version 2

Just now building my p51 and the robart gear I ordered for this model are too long! Long by about 1/4inch. Did anyone else have this issue or did they work fine for you?

Anybody have any measurements they can share? Robart is telling me they are right but it clearly is almost 1/4 to long and not on center. They were trying to rush me off the phone too! Somethings up. I clearly know I have version 2. If you go on their website you will see their measurements are not correct for this plane.

Just a touch long, wheel will not be in the center.

Here are the drawings that Robart say fit this version 2 p51 150. I donít think itís correct! Can someone verify that has the robart gear?

yeah, pretty excited and ready to maiden it. I have my robart retracts modified and ready to go. Just dialing in CG now. Do you remember if stock CG was good? Looks like I will need to add a little weight even with the DLE 35!
