ESM price increases?!!
Has anyone else noticed the lates price increases on some of the ESM planes. For some of the 80" planes, the increase is close to $100 when you factor in the increase price of both the plane and shipping? That seems a little bit too much of an increase all at once for me? [][]

RE: ESM price increases?!!
The ESM prices were increased as of the 9th of March. Price increases on the 70" planes went up $50.00 and on some of the larger planes increases were in the $100.00 range.
The Giant scale FW190D9 actually went down $50.00

Please understand that it is not the distributor or the dealer who has increased the shipping price. The USPS,FEDEX and UPS have all raised the shipping rates.

RE: ESM price increases?!!
Hey let me shed some light on this as far as shipping... I ship fedex all the time. Not a huge quantity but regularly. TBM ships alot of stuff. I get a small discount compared to just walking into the Fedex office and shipping something. I am sure TBM get a greater discount than I do. I just received the Seafury in today. I cost me $127 to get it shipped to me. I just went onto the fedex website and used my small discount and If I shipped this plane It would have cost me $118 so They are most likely making $10 -$20 on the shipping itself...

The shipping is already pricy for the larger birds which is understandable but what does shipping going up have to do with the prices of the kits going up?.. If it shipping, why not keep the planes for the same price and let us know the shipping is higher instead of adding the extra to the kits prices if it is actually the shippers?

I've recently gotten into the ESM kit line and I remember purchasing or attempting to purchase a kit from a distributer where the shipping was MUCH more than every other distributer... So I too call the BS flag on that... You do to a degree have some control over a portion of the shipping.

Yea it been a trend for the past few years. I could remember when CMP 120 size planes use to be shipped for about $30-$40. Then all of a sudden sellers saw a way to make extra profit by jacking up the shipping cost. Even something in an envelope they charge you $10 and when you look at the stamp it`s about $3. Been that way for at least 3 to 4 years now. Guess that`s the business way these days.

One other thing that I really can't understand and perhaps someone can explain it to me is why planes that are the same size and weight have two very different shipping costs advertised on the distributors website.
Case in point, the 82" Hawker Hurricane and 80" Stuka ship for $79 and $69 respectively, while the 80" LA-7 and P-39 ship for $149 and $159 respectively.
Can someone PLEASE explain that to me??!!![:-][:-]

I just noticed the increase as well. I've been putting away my pennies for the big corsair for awhile and about had a fit when I saw the price jump. Way to go guys, you just lost a customer. Unless they can justify the increase with a increase in quality and hardware, forget about it! I'll wait for the topflite version.

I agree.. I purchased the ESM line due to ease and convience..however looking back at it, all the work I've placed into the so called arfs I've purchased.. I could've built both of the birds waiting for less and they'd be better looking. You know the old saying," you get what you pay for".. Thats gone completely out the window with these ESM arfs/kits! It would be different if the quality was great and the parts were top notch. My 50cc bf109 fuse drew more blood from me then all my kits combined with all the exposed razor sharp unfused glass particles. I spent a lot of time just cleaning these areas up. This is what I payed $730 buck for!!..[:@]
And now they raise the price.. Seriously! GONE! I guarantee some will still buy these and theyll have more excuses then you can count.

Not to repeat some other posts, but it really very very simple. Airplanes are worth what people are willing to pay, and if you want your ESM planes bad enough you are going to buy them no matter how bad you gripe on the shipping. If you buy them, ESM will charge for them.
Rammstein, Iwish Iwas far enough into my backlog and we could do some deuling Holman 190 threads!! Bob ended up sending me a whole new set of ribs since a couple of mine were off sized. And he sent a set of templates. That guy is fantastic to work with. BTW, you wouldn't happen to have a 1/5 scale spinner/fan laying around would you?

RE: ESM price increases?!!
If I had a business used for income and decided that I could make more money by raising the price, I would raise the price; even if it meant losing customers. I wouldn't subsidize a person's hobby to be a nice guy.
I don't care about shipping cost. When I buy on Ebay, I look at the price of an item plus the cost of shipping as what I am paying for it. If an arf is $1 and shipping is $50, I don't care about the shipping cost.

This is going to be another thread whining about the cost of things. Don't whine, don't buy! BUILD!
If you've been saving your pennies for a plane from EMS.. buy a plane from some one else.

And I am going to buy from someone else, topflite. When theirs is released for $749.99, I'll use whatever coupons are available and save probably 50 bucks on it and spend only half for shipping.
Thanks, but I don't need your preaching or insight.
