RE: Giant Foam 1/5 scale P40 EPO
Thanks, its $499, no shipping.
IT has issues but nothing you guys can’t handle, I have seen your post.
Let me explain.
Rear fuse needs to be attached, I will make carbon fiber mods because I don’t trust a glue joint.
The stock power is a 60 electric , its ok in the video and scale but the stock esc is 50 amps , its to low , I will use 100amp because I have some good ones in my shop from Hobby King that will work well and not kill my budget .
The servos are digital, some are 9 gram and some are larger .The problem with the manufacture (LX) is that they have a history of big plane (jets) and shotty electronics.
However based on one other person looking at this plane with me, the servos appear to be better then the past ones used. Same with the retracts, all medal, work struts, light weight wheels
I will attempt to remove the wheels, see what they weigh and see if I can go up with Dubro light weight wheels.
My challenge right now is do I want a 60 size motor in making my battery decisions or do I want a 90 size one?
The prop is a three blade paddle separate blades and replaceable, tail wheel is retractable medal leg but plastic upper assembly.
EPO is super thick, durable and in this case painted with very good coats so you don’t see the honey comb.
I have built and flown many traditional warbirds and the last two years went to epo because they are so light that the flight characteristics are incredibly
