Default WWII Scale 3 Blade propeller help

Was hoping to get some knowledgeable help.
I am stuck in the 24" diameter prop size due to ground clearance and am using a Brison 6.4 so have to go with a 3 blade rather than a 26" 2 blade which would be the preferable prop to use on this engine.

Has anyone got experience with Biela vs. Xoar WWII scale props?

Will these scale props lack anything performance wise over a standard 3 blade from either company?

Joe,
Couple questions.
Have you gotten yours yet and done any testing?
What size and on what motor?
Where did you end up buying them from?

Biela Props really are beautiful and by all accounts, well balanced and sturdy. Sorry to say that I can't back this up with experience but I know alot of people who wont use anything else. BTW, I'm currently building a semi scale Yak-3 and and couldn't help but notice the one in your profile picture. I had the extreme pleasure of seeing that plane fly at Wanaka NZ this past april which actually inspired me to go on the hunt for a Yak-3 build kit ( got one from the boys at Red Star RC and couldn't be happier). I plan on using that colour scheme for sentimental reasons. If you think your having trouble finding a decent scale 3 blade, try finding one in 12" diameter. Virtually immpossible.

For the 6.4, what you need is the 25X12 PT three bladed prop that Troybulit sells. They have a few left. These props are as efficient as Mezjlik, but alot cheaper.

CBC,
Have wanted a giant scale YAK 3 for years.Unfortunately I just don't have
the time to stick build one and the only giant ARF I'm aware of is no longer available.
Fiber Classics made a real nice fiberglass one,but alas, they're gone.

On another note,Stukka Barry, speaking of 3 blades, how you making out with my Biela
I gave you at Fredericksburg that you said you could repair?
After the sad demise of the Stukka I could see where you had other things on your mind when you took
off,but we never exchanged contact info......

I beg to differ, I'm now waiting on a nice dry day to paint the wing of my other Stuka that will be flying at Warbirds Over Delaware. The siren is being repaired, but wont be ready for WOD. As far as I know, your propeller is done. I have'nt been able to see it yet as the composite shop is far away from the hangar that I work in. I'm quite sure I will have it with me at WOD. If your going, come see me at the large white canopy next to Mac Hodges, just look for two Stukas. If you wont be at WOD, (shame on you) PM me your address and I'll send it to you.

You need to talk to Jeff at TBM, he's got the PT 25X12 props, just not on the website. This is the prop I'll be using on my Meister FW-190A powered by a TMM-106 which is essentially a 6.4CID.

Hey Barry,
Trying to make it to WOD but so far still up in the air...
no pun intended...

If I can't, I'll get you my address.

Glad to hear you've got another Stukka in the hangar.
Warbird events just wouldn't be the same without the Stukka
whistle being heard.

I'm going to try a Mejzlik 24x12 next. While it's not scale at all,
it will allow my engine to develop more RPM's.
The Biela's are beautiful props, but they sure do rob a lot of power.
I was only able to get 5800 RPM with it.

The 25x12 wouldn't give me enough ground clearance..
