RE: Lein/Holman 1/5 FW-190A8 refurb
Bob, An unfortunate loss of crucial parts on the front of the engine during initial take off turn (namely spinner fan and prop shatteringcause unknown) gave no options except in a plowed field destroying the fuse and everything on it completely while the wing came away nearly unscathed (gear needed fixing obviously). Was a bummer..my pals plane...I took the workable parts to try and make it into something later....fell into a second hand kit to help the process...will be my 3rd one and they keep getting more fun.

Should look good as a model. Looks like you'll get to score one of those sweet drop tanks and ETC racks too....got mine from Graham B. at Tigermodels...a beautiful piece of glasswork. Will probably summon the courage and motivation to do a checkerboard cowl on my next one.

Make sure you get all the little mounting pieces for the tank when you get the rack. I didn't and was silly not to....it might bear mentioning that the one I finished most recently I pried away from Herr Von Burley several years back.

You've got such a great deal on a great flying 190!!!
Here are the two Holman 190 I built and flown.
The first one has a built up wing and BGX engine, 22/23 lbs. It's a A5 model from the east front.
The second one a A7 or 8 blue4 23lbs with a Moki 2.10
I sold them a few years ad I think they're still around.
I built a flying fan with luminum blades

I will be watching this one as well. I just got the D9 from Ram here and that will be the next project I start. Planning on putting in a G62 on a can. I want to try this system out for my TA 152. I got all of my stuff from Fighteraces as well. I also have the carb lay down manifold to keep the carb in the cowl.
Here is a pic of my recently refinished Pica D9. I may use this scheme again.

This looks like it could be a real nice build I've always liked the FW 190, And would love to do one but I have several a head of it. If my vote counts for anything I like the snow camo.
Good luck with the build I'll be wacthing.

Thanks Thomas,
I'll go see if I can find them now.
I do know that I'm going to do panel lines, and as much as I would like to say no to rivets.... I just don't know if I can keep from doing them.
To me, surface detail, and weathering really helps make the model into the plane so to speak.
I also found a site in Canada making sound systems and they offer a nice product that is plug and play. Yeah, they would have the FW190 with startup, shut down, and cannon sounds too wouldnt they.... So If I find myself needing 2 pounds of nose weight, I'll consider it.
