Default ARF 1/5th SEA FURY WANTED??

Is there a 1/5th DA50 sized ARF Sea Fury on the market? I would really like a quality turn key bird. If not then a kit will have to suffice.

Thanks gents

Let me know

there hasnt been much info about the new ESM Sea Fury as yet, I think they are in stock in the USA, no idea when they will arrive in Australia, been on order for 6 months now, but it should go well with a 50 in it, I have a DLA56 waiting for when mine eventually arrives.

or get one of Ernie's 90" versions with glass fuz and foam core wings. Esstentially it is same as the Vailly one but with a glass fuz.

Ernie has lost any interest in producing his kit a long time ago and the last few he pulled were of poor quality. He should sellmthe molds but he would want top dollar$$$$. Its a shame as I would buy his sea fury. Cheers Trent.

If you don't have a lot of time go for the ESM, if you want glass fuse or built up the Bates 82" version would be fine with the DA50, G62 or DLE55, here is mine with a G62, its a great flying airplane, a bit windy but the plane handles it well. A 1/5 scale version will actually be close to 100" wing span.

yeah I have heard he is winding down. Mate of mine is pretty tight with him so he can get things done.

I have the 90" Vailly version, great flier, bit heavy at 42lbs but handles it well. Zenoah GT-80 twin in the nose with electronic ignition.

I put 3M 53cc gasser in an old KMP Sea Fury with only 72" wingspan, turning APC T-6 racing prop. It is my best flying warbird. Great at buzzing runway and slows down nicely for easy landings.

I have resisted all Seafury kits that came before, this has to be the ultimate size, and perfect engine/airframe combination with the moki radial.

I think I will go with the simple and clean RN scheme, should show up well against our desert landscape here in Dubai.

Ive just finished an ESM 80" Sea Fury with a DA50. Its an 80" warbird weighing in at just under 21lbs.which is slightly larger than 1/6 scale. It is a great flying airplane.Very Pleased.

The quality of the fuse is decent.Unfortunately the color used for the upper portion of fuse and wing was the wrong color.I remasked and sprayed Extra Dark Sea gray to correct. Id be glad to assist anyone who would like specific details on this model on how I finished and prepared for flight.

Chris -

Now that you've received your Airworld Sea Fury, how do you like it? It sure looks nice on their website!

grw57 -

The EDSG repaint sure makes your Sea Fury look nice. It was worth the effort. Glad to hear it's a good flyer.

Hello Jay,
the kit is, as you would expect, well presented all composite construction. Looks to be well engineered with high quality materials, the wood formers are very cleanly cut. It is not ARF as there is a lot to do.(no manual, just a cd with pictures) What does not show up well on their website is the scale fidelity and fantastic pannel detail that is present in all the mouldings. The size and sheer presence of the model has me spellbound at the moment.....I dare say if I started measuring and comparing with the full size I may find issues but I don't care...it's a worthy and beautifull mount for my Moki 250. The landing gear is awesome, scale looking all gear doors provided. The only oversight is the two piece wing...three piece would be easier to assemble at the airfield and work on in the workshop. Happy bunny so far!

Chris.

There is also the Austars and the Black Horse Models Sea Fury ARFs to consider. I think they are in the 50cc range as well. There is more info on these on RCG under fuel warbirds (the Austars) and in the electric conversions threads where the BH plane appears.
