What are you guys doing for wheels? I am using the robart gear, prefer the sierra's, but don't want to cut into the wing to make the mod.

OK, and where would one find such magical round shiny things? Sierra is out, he won't sell to me because he only has a few left.

All of these good wheels and tires come out of Germany. I have a few sets I tend to purchase this type of stuff when I see it because they go poof and when you need them you’re out of luck. So if I were trying to find a new set I would start with someone who has links in to the German model community. The guy I would tap for such a search is http://vogelsang-aeroscale.com/warbirds.html as you can see he sells the sis t fw 190. Those wheels should be perfect.
Why does all the good stuff come from Germany?

All right Ramstein44! Let me know. I hope to start producing them in two weeks. I'm sculpting in the fur collar this afternoon. I think this adds new meaning to ''making fur fly''!

Williams bros makes a perfectly suitable wheel for a very reasonable price. Add a little detail, and I think you come out way ahead of chasing down the serious scale wheels. Not worth it IMO.
Now, I want to duplicate the cannon area in the wing of my TA 152. Anyone have a line on a plastic model of the wing cannon so I can duplicate this? I have had a hard time in my search.
Ramm, you are headed for a daunting task with your Andersen TA 152 build. It is very gratifying, yet incredibly difficult at the same time. It seems every thing I do or accomplish, I realize I should have done it a little differently.
It is one thing to build an ARF, another thing to build a kit, a bigger thing to build your own design, but to me the most difficult thing is to scratch build someone else's design. With conflicting info from the plans, the construction article, and the available CD, not to mention poor fitting parts. My TA 152 is going to be a wonderful plane, but a very difficult build. I hope you will get a chance to see it one day Ram.
Hey, where is my belly pan for the Hollman!

As for the anderson. I was lucky enough to get instructions with mine and the CD. Prety detailed instructions. I always assemble the kit first to ensure propper fit then glue. This way I catch the errors. Plus I get to learn from others hardships..
No worries, I'm sure we'll share the upper skies someday. I heard there's plenty of allied planes at your field. I look forward to shooting them down with you..lol

Ram, yah, last time I flew I think I counted 4, P47 Thunderbolts. While my little Pica 190 more than holds it's own, it could use a little help. Anytime you wanna come fly with us at Love-air you are welcome. Just let me know so I can be there to meet you.
I am still planning on a spring maiden for the TA 152. It will be for scale competition, so not just a throw around Warbird. It is going well, just not as fast as I am used to. The second one will go faster! Yes, I will build another one.

I need to pull the trigger on an engine, but which one fits the best? DA50, DLE55 or the new DLE55RA?

I have the DLE 55RA on another plane. The mounting pattern is different than the side exhaust. So, you may be creating more work for yourself. I thought the rear exhaust would be ideal, but tower sells the "combo" with the side exhaust for a reason.. I think... ;-)

Well guys this thing flies great. I just completed 4 flights more flights after the remaiden from the original maiden flight crash. I replaced the cowl, gear doors, and decals on the wing. Added a little more weight to the nose and if is now perfect. 45 degree up line, roll inverted and it just keeps on going. Takeoffs and landing are beautiful main wheel roll outs. I ripped this thing around more than anything I have flown lately and was all smiles. Now get'em done and go fly, you will love it!

So, I go by my local dealer today and he puts in a order for the plane and retracts for me as a Christmas present from my family and gives us a great deal, now the fun starts. Tower shows the plane in stock but Great Planes back orders it along with the Robart retracts. Guess I'm not getting a Christmas present again this year last year it was the E-flite F-4's that we never got hope GPA has their stuff back in stock before I get bored waiting. Maybe I should have gotten the P-47 from Hanger Nine but wait they were the people who lied to me all of last winter. Seams like we can't win trying to spend money.lol.
