RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
I should have this thing ready to CG next week. All i have to do is the wing at this point. Everything is in it and setup. After coming off a full build these arfs go together fast.

Rebel, I debated the thumb thing! Lol. I thought, well, the glove would hide the missing thumb anyway. It was shot off by a P-47 I think. Vertical Grimace, thanks for the order and the TA 152 is looking like a masterpiece in the works buddy! I'll be very proud to see Gunther in the cockpit!!

Thanks Lyle. Tons of work. I have not put this much effort into a build since the Fokker DVII. I hope it will compare. I have to say your posting of Gunther completely distracted me! Ok now, what was I doing?
Did Gunther fly after the thumb was shot off? Or was he done after that? Great choice for a pilot.
Yah Ramm, I think one must be careful with that website. It is a great place to find a scheme though. Then you can haggle over the accuracy against other documentation after that.
Here is the scheme for the TA. Not even close to my other docs. Notice the round wing tips though

Fly4real, My order will be here within the next few days. I want the painted version. Money went out the door over the last few days getting everything I needed for this. I said I was going to build a allied plane. I never said it would stay that way..(pictured isn't mine but a reference)
I'm cheating on the rivits for the TFfw190 with these pre-made ones that you apply, prime then remove. It should save me a lot of time.

Well, the Germans are credited with inspiring the shark mouth on the P40 flying tigers. Taken from Condor legion Stukas from Spain. Not too far fetched for the FW 190 to sport one. Heck, if not a competition model, use it anyway. Then it really would not matter.

Gunther Rall May 1944 has thumb shot off by P47, contracts diphtheria in hospital and wound is infected and heals poorly. Returns to service leading JG 300 Rammjagers till the end of the war. Spent much time as POW. No mention of Pilot who shot him down.
Very interesting pilot. All info here taken from Horrido! Fighter aces of the Luftwaffe. One of the best books on the subject. I have probably read this book twice, but just can't remember all of these details. JG 300 flew FW 190 D models under his command, so that could actually be a scale option. Sorry, but he preferred the ME 109 for the centrally mounted guns. Wing mounted guns had a tendency to jam.

Has anyone ever seen the first pictured FW190? I seen it in a Youtube video and even though it's not confirmed to be accurate, I thought it would be a cool fantasy FW190.

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
Just finished up the FW-190 today. Ran the engine and did thge final cg check. Added 2lbs 12oz of lead to the nose. Total weight ready to fly is 27lbs 5oz. I do not know how you can run a 55cc engine in this plane and add no lead to the nose. I did use the scale Robart aluminun wheels which are very heavy which will add to the overall weight. The plane is built exactly as the manual suggested. Enclosed are a few pictures of the finished project.
