Like the name implies it is a "Gel". Nice to use on wing roots that is exposed till you can get the wing slid together.
Made by Elmers glue. I hate having to have a roll of paper towels trying to find all the runs from the regular white glues.

Here are some photos of the Robart electric tail wheel attempting to fit into the opening in the fuselage, the rough modifications to the opening to get the mechanical tail wheel ito fit and the completed installation, minus the screws and linkages.

Thanks. From what I could see, removing the jackscrew & mounting it forward should be an easy task to accomplish.

I put the decals on the wing tonight and you had better use some masking tape to hold the inside piece of them together till you get it on the wing. Plan to spend some time for this job.
A friend of mine got me some German maps in 1/5 scale for my cockpit. I like to have a map stuck up in the corner of the windscreen. They are of Berlin in 1942.

I did not have any trouble putting on my decals. Went on real fast and easy. Did the whole plane in about one hour.

Dean! You bought one? Cool, which engine did you choose?

I have the TF GS Corsair with a DLE 55RA, I hope we get a chance to fly them together.

Hi Chris

Rimfire 65 electric on the FW. I have Down and Locked converted Robart mains and manual tail wheel. On the final touches - nice plane. I also have the GS ARF Corsair with a DLE 55. That one will be on the building table as soon as the FW is complete. Lots of warbird activity in my area and I was missing out on tall the fun!

I'll be heading down to your neck of the woods in a few weeks to pick up a REALLY huge Hawk from Chris. We should get together and compare notes!

Thanks Hellcat!

It would be great to do some combat with the boys south of the border! Count me in!
Yes, its the Carf / Skygate Hawk Swiss scheme with Down and Locked converted SkyGate gear.

I have to say that I have been very impressed with the FW build, lots of extras have been done already for the " assembler " and conversion to electric is a breeze. I did have to machine an adapter for the Rimfire 65 prop shaft to supplied spinner bolt. That is the only frustrating thing about converting to electric. I have yet to come across a spinner that just bolts directly to a motor. Oh well.....I guess I have to do some modeling on these ARFs lol

Cheers Guys !

Helijet,

I usually just change out the bolt that comes with the spinner, for the appropriate size needed to fit the adapter.  No problems yet!

Great suggestion! I have taken the spinner bolt and cut it in half or to the appropriate length and then glued a sleeve with Hysol over the two parts. That has proven to work very well.

So... here is the next question...what is the easiest way to paint the black and white spiral on the spinner?

Paint the entire spinner white first. Then lightely draw the spiral to your satisfaction. Mask the white areas and shoot the black..

Don't laugh... but I couldn't get the mutant hot glue to release after trying all the mentioned and other methods..Soooo, I did things my way..lol Built new, more scale ailerons. I'll have them hinged hopefully here soon. I also modified the flaps to be a little more accurate.
I'm just getting started on the aileron/flap/elevator package from fliteskin ,Ramstein it looks like a fairely straight forward mod, just wondering what are the dimensions of those rectangular hard points you installed on the trailing edge of the wing for the ailerons.Any other info would be appreciated.

Make sure that the part that in the wing is large enough to sit against the top of the wing skin. I then ran a flat head screw through the T.E into the unit and gorilla glued the unit into the wing. There is also blocks that sandwich the unit in the wing. CYA

Hi Roberto,
Unfortunately I was commited to the Corsair when the FW was announced otherwise for sure I would have the FW. Well at least we will have some variety out there!
Thats ok I will just have to build the SisT kits finally and stop messin with the ARF's.

Your Crosses are oriented wrong.. I just noticed it. They arent perpendicular to the LE.. they align across the wing so they are parallel to each other.
