Remove the choke plate and then take out the ball and spring, or just cut a turn off the spring. This will put less strain on the choke servo.

Put the maiden on my fw 190 today. This thing flys better than the p47. i had to put 2 clicks of down trim in her and that was it. one of the guys took video. Ill get that posted as soon as he gets it to me.

Another quality Toflite product.

Looking forward to the video. Mine is on the way and I will use Saito 450 converted completely to gas by Adrian at www.ch-ignition.com

Very nice!
Looking at what vids are out there on this plane at this time, the wing dihedral angle does seem a little shallow on this arf
Has anyone checked that?
It wouldn't be too tuff to add a little dihedral when joining the wings if it is off a bit.

Picked up my Wurger last nite.

Looks like the box got dropped pretty hard on one end. No obvious damage until I remove the fuselage from the box.

The box obviously hit pretty hard on the end, even though there was little to suggest that on the outside.

The cowl ring was also proken.

In can repair all of that, but why sould I? (unlesss they want to kick me back some significant $$$$) The firewall should have had some foam inset into the recess. That would have taken most of the impact istead of the thin plywood.

I am waiting for the hobby shop to e-mail me an invoice so I can e-mail it to Hobbico along W/the PIX.

I spoke to them over the phone already..

Ouch.. I agree with you, that's no small repair.

They said that they would probably send me a new Fuselage, but if they kniock off enough $$$$ I'll fix it. I can section out the area from the firewall to the 1st former.

I'm using electric retracts anyway so i don't need the tie down "C" slots for an air tank.

BTW: Here is the scheme I'm going with.

Pretty close to the TF theme. A little airbrush work on the Monocote ought to make for a pretty good depiction of this particular Wurger.

I can get the decals [link=http://http://www.callie-graphics.com/airplanes.php]HERE[/link].

Between the TF graphics & the ones from Callie, I can make an accurate color/markings scheme.

Check for paint cracks in the cowl. UPS dropped my first one hard enough to crack the vertical fin in two. Cowl ring was cracked like yours and the cowl was damaged. Tower had UPS pick it up and they sent me a new one which arrived in perfect condition.

I finally have all the rivets on mine; weather permitting, I'll prime her and she'll be ready for paint when it warms up. It's almost over..

Anyone sitting back installing a G-62 in this?
I'm going that route, I just got a great deal on a NIB G-62 and since everyone seems to need nose weight and G-62's are builtproof for reliability.

Is it any way to modify the wing so the dihedral will be correct. I guess Tf use some pieces of wood to insert between the two wingpanels that could be corrected....

And I will of course have to modify the retract fixing.

It will not be easy to do, both wing root formers will have to be removed from the wing panelsand re-installed at the selected dihedral.New wing joiners will have to be manufactured and cut to match the dihedral of the two wing root formers. In my opinion this will require"Major" surgery due to the pre-assembled wing panels. If it were a kit, it would be a piece of cake to do.

Thanks for the video post, Ram.

Well, I am thinking this coming weekend may be my maiden flilght! All is set and ready to go. I will see about having my buddy video the flight.

BTW, does anyone know what the "typical" flight time is with the standard tank and the DLE 55?

Thanks!

The DLE will provide a good 12 minutes of flying time withgoodthrottle management.Witha maiden flight, you do not want to extend the flight time tothe DLEmaximum endurance. I always recommend no more then 8 minutes for a maiden flight which is plenty of time to test the flight characteristics of the plane, landing gear, flaps, etc., and then land. You can then check the plane for loose screws, flight controls, engine mount bolts, etc. Then if everything checks out OK, then you can extend the flight times on subsequent flights.

Roger

Does anyone out there have one of the little plastic antenna fairings for the vertical fin that they don't plan to use? Mine got boogered up and tower won't sell just that to me. I would have to buy the "fuselage set", and that's really expensive for a small fairing.

I will pay you for it within reason.

Thanks

Man.. that's such bad timing.. I just threw that thing away Saturday with the box. I'd just take a piece of balsa block to size and make one, then glass it. It'll last you longer.

I do considering what it would cost to build a plane this size. If you're not real concerned with perfection and according to the flight reports that I've gotten and videos, it's a good plane.

I'd be real interested in seeing the installation of the G-62. Like you stated, it would eliminate the nose weight issue. Which version did you come across?

Got the magneto version, they are hard to beat for reliability. We used them for years on our UAV trainers. Just put in gas and flew all day every day back then. I did already get the new version dual stack muffler for the newer version. A whole 12$.
