After an attempt to attach the A4 antenna mast I made with magnets, I decided it needed a screw to keep it in place. I used an aluminum bar and tapped a 4-40 hole in it. As you can see in the photos the screw is hardly noticable.

The Best Pilots Site posted an article I wrote with a bit more detail on the steps I took to detail the Top Flite 190. Check it out if you like.

I have used the plastic coated fishing leader line for years on my zirolli sized planes
all you have to do is twist the wire and heat Never had a failure
comes in all strength I usually use 60 sometime 90 pound test
plane will pull apart before the wire breaks or comes loose

Are you saying that you don't have to crimp a tube over the wires?

I tried the braided fishing line and it didn't last long. The loop was cut by the steering arm. I switched to the plastic coated steel cable made for fishing leaders and it works great. It may work where it loops around a smooth surface, but not a sharp edge.

I am using this for now;

http://www.acpsales.com/.038-Kev-Cor...s..html?page=1

Just makes a knot in each end, and a drop of CA on it.

I do not crip a tube over the plastic coated fishing leader line
some of my friends do
some don't
I never had a failure just twisting the wire and running a flame to melt the wires together
crip tube would be extra insurance if you wanted to it would not do any harm

I have an older 3w-50i that has about 6 runs on it. Obviously, with the rear carb, do you guys see any issue with installing it on this particular FW?

Good luck with your first giant. I would tell you to find someone in your area thats nice and has large models to help.

This will not land like any you have. Keep some power on when landing to keep the weight on the wings and not all on gear at touch down. I go up two or three clicks from bottom throttle till I hear it increase.

It will feel more heavy on the wing when flying but you'll probably handle that ok. Just don't horse it around wait for it. It takes longer then the small ones.
