TF FW190 GIANT ARF

I know, it isnt a Top Flite, its a Vailly, but here is my FG-84 in action.
The Saito FG-84 is not modified in any way;
It is perhaps a bit early to conclude that the engine runs fine after just one flight....
Good enough for me, so far. But then again I am an optimist, always ready to be struck down, again and again, by the RC-gods.

Yes, hehe, that sharp turn at the end there would have ripped out the gear if this was a couple of years ago.
Now the whole gear area is fiber-glass strengthened. Enourmous forces at work. Also the gear link is made of steel now.
The first version had alu link, and they bendt when doing such a turn, and that would be the end of it for some weeks.
It is difficult to get spare pats from Sierra nowadays, for some reason.

Daryl has his own clock he runs by.. It's Daryl time @ Sierra. a year ago I sent him oleo struts for a ESM BF110 which he still hasn't returned... I'm pretty sure they are sitting on a shelf somewhere wondering why I sent them off...

Good luck, Dan!
-Don't use petrol with alcahol added. It runs hot then.
-Just keep rotating that H Needle CCW so it gets enough petrol on max Rpm. At least 4 rounds, I think.

Thanks for the info I have already converted 2 ASP 180 4c to gas but Max (the provider) is no were to found
I can say I got these 2 4c gassers in my ESM B25 on stock little fuel tanks I can start the motors run them for 5 min on the ground to warm up good then fly for 15 min on around a 1/2 a tank of fuel.
Mine is not the duel carb. Is there a conversion kit? Is it worth it?
How dose this pull the fw190 around

hellooo all... I've got a tip for all my TF GS FW190 pals out there with the DLE55 motor... you got to try the APC T6 racing prop... It's a 20X15 and wow... what a difference... I struggled to keep my plane in the mix but boy howdy does it go fast now...
I have a friend who fly's a P-51 with a G62 and an APC 22X10 and I could never keep up with him... He'd fly around at half throttle so we could fly formation... Once I put on that new T6 prop... look out... my Heimlich was going like a bat outta hell!
no changes on my plane except the prop and I was right there with him at full throttle! what a great day flyin'... 5 flights and 5 greased landings... I am ready for the Warbirds over the Rockies event!

Das, the plane will go faster and lands at the same speed but for me that speed on landing is pretty high since my FW190 weighs a ton (close the 30lbs....
The "engineers" and "aero dynamic experts" explain that the prop spins faster (only 20 inch diameter) and has a lot more bite... hence she goes faster... not a lot of thrust... longer take off... doesn't pull hard in the vertical like the Xoar 22X10... I would not use this prop on an 85... it'd probably over spin and grenade the piston rod or crank.

hey, question for you engine pros out there... should I be worried going to higher altitudes for Warbirds over the Rockies? will that make my current needle settings at sea level too rich?

Flew again today chasing the formation guys at Prado... 2 P-51's and a T-6... Their all over RCU in videos from different events... very popular.. they let me fly with them and I was able to keep up with them easily... 4 Warbird gaggle in a 50foot box fast pass on the deadline is very cool... It was high 80's today but didn't have any overheating at all... temp on cylinder after landing was 200... that's 15 laps at full throttle...

Make sure that you return to your low altitude setting when you get hone as a lean condition can cause engine damage.

A 22X10 & a 20X15 will put about the same load in an engine at 6500-7000 RPM.
The 22X10 will have more thrust while the 20X15 will give more speed.
The HSN setting should not be affected significantly.

The reason I asked about the HS needle is that I was surprised how little, if any adjustment was needed when vastly different props are tried. I individually set 3 different props, a 22x8, 22x10, and a 4-blade 20x10x4, and they all used the same needle setting even though there was a 2K difference in top rpm. I had assumed that rpm differences would dictate different needle settings, but apparently that is not the case. All required 1.75 turns on the HS needle. It seems the difference of props is not the issue; it is having the engine putting out max power.
