I would concur that this was absolutely a fabulous event. There were tents from one end of the runway to another. I thought that I would add some of the shots that I took (including flying) for those that were unable to attend.

On behalf of the members of the Fond du Lac Aeromodelers club that hosts Warbirds & Classics over the Midwest, I want to thank all the pilots who brought some of the most incredible aircraft in the RC world. I would also like to thank our great sponsers, vendors, and everyone who helped us to make the 2012 WCOM the greatest ever! We look forward to seeing all our friends August 15th-18th 2013. And please keep the pictures coming. Registration for 2013 will be open soon!

Any info on the two Tigercats? What model / wingspan / engines ? Great photos, and thanks for sharing.

Maybe the larger Tigercat is Paul LeTourneau's old scratchbuilt... 124" wingspan, G62's for power? Mike did you happen to catch any info on that F7F?

I am pretty sure (99%) that that big Tigercat is a Bob Dively large cat. No longer available and had a glass fuse, nacelles and cowls, with foam for the rest. I had the same kit at one time. Ton of work to get it working and right. It is as Noah says from there.

"Warbird Sammy" and I took a ton of pics and videos .....
We just got back and we will need a little bit of time time to edit over 800 pics.
I will say this now.... "that show will be tough to beat!"
We had a blast! The weather was stellar! The people there were all so nice..........
Cheers,

Thank for the reply. Can't begin to explain how bummed I am that I am not closer to the event so I could of at least been there on Saturday. I had one of the best times of my life last year and from what you are all saying it was the same or better this year. Yes, lots of great people, planes, and fun!
Did FOX show up for another live interveiw and video spot.....that was fun last year!
Very Jealous in Florida!

LOL! I can't tell you how many times Sam "Dolled" himself up every morning waiting for her.........
We did not see her........[&o] BUT Sam did make it "first" in line at the Saturday night dinner! If you know Sammy..... that made up for not seeing her......

For those that were there I just want to say thanks for the fun and encouragement we found at Fond Du Lac this past weekend. My son and I are new to the large scale side of the sport but we were treated really well and had a great time. We were the ones with the old-school Byron P-47 running the 4.2 Sachs and 4-blade prop. Thanks to all for the advice and support!
It was a super weekend and we’ll be back next year for sure, with more big planes in tow.

I am NOT going to Pre Register this year, as the past two years I have and had to back out due to work.[>:]
So if I don't sign up I will be able to make it.

Scott...I wish I would have put the camera in video mode for your F16 flight...but it is pretty much seared into my brain after watching it. Seeing that bird fly is NOT good for me at all...being that it is just about the coolest thing I've ever seen fly and it's well beyond my capability of attaining and flying with any hope of having a heart beat left after the flight would be over. I should have let you know how cool I thought it was after you flew....but well done. I love that plane. The paint scheme is fantastic on the ground and in the air too.
Noah, can only say that the Tigercat flies and looks fantastic. Jeff's details may help. It was impressive in the air for sure....all maneuvers with no trouble whatsoever.

The owner of the Tigercat is Paul Hohensee from the West Bend area, and it was built Paul LeTourneau a number of years ago. Im not sure if it was 100% scatch built or not but it sure is a beautiful plane.

Wow,
Registration has been open for about 5 hours and there are already 14 pilots pre-registered! Lots of our Minnesota friends. Scott- Fox 11 from Green Bay did come Friday around 11AM and did some filming and a short interview. It aired between 5-6PM on their nightly news. Emily Deem (the Foxy reporter) was scheduled to be here also but was a late scratch due to another assignment. Sam Parfitt said he had installed a heater in his airplane trailor/luxury suite in case a stay-over was required!!! He also mentioned that eating crackers was OK with him. Ha Ha!
