Q 75 Sounds perfect. Reliable, and plenty of power, and of course you don't have to buy it. Kevin.

I had a 3W 80 swinging a Mej 24x12 3bl and flew with lots of power. I've seen a number of people put DA 85 in them too. They tend to need lots of nose weight though.

I have a 3W-85 Comp series powerplant in mine turning a 27x10 2 blade at 6500 RPM. Plenty of power for this 37 pound warbird, but not over powered. Smooth running as compaired to a DA-85 which others I know are running, and me to as soon as I get a couple of other projects completed.

Quadra makes a good engine, but are short strokes which make their power best at high RPM. I have come to like the power and torque of a long stroke engine like the DA, 3W, and DLE powerplants.

That plane was built and flown with a Q-75.

Just received my DLE 85 from Tower, $475 with Gold discount.
Weight only 4 lbs 4 oz, same as DA 85.
Comes with nice vibration mount.
I think this is great replacement engine for all those G62 powered warbirds.
Cannot beat the power/weight/price.

You don't use the flaps?

Not when it's blowing a Gail and cross wind landing . Id rather the plane not ballooning on me and to be honest even with no wind I've only ever needed to use 15/20% flap and she's fine with that

I wasn't aware you were dealing with wind that strong. Thanks for the reply.
