Warbird Day 10/6/12 Amarillo, TX
Warbird Day is coming up Oct. 6th at our clubs field in Amarillo, TX. See the pdf attachment for details.
While this is only a one day event, the field will be available for flying Friday and Sunday for those who come early and/or stay late. Just let me know.
We put down new petromat for our runway and pit area earlier this year. Attached is a picture of the field.

The ARKS Warbird Day is postponed until Sunday, Oct 7th. The weather forecast for Sunday looks quite a bit better than Saturday's forecast. However, as we all know, there is no guarantee about the weather!

Sunday's weather was better than Saturday's, but not by much. Temps still in the 30s and 40s, but the winds were lighter and more down the runway. A few pictures from the day's activties.
1 - three club members about 8:30 am. The propane fueled grill was a popular item all day.
2 - One member brought a whole squadron of electrics. They fly well, even at this altitude. (I know the nearest plane in the photo is glow powered.)
3 - General shot of the flight line/pit area during the afternoon.
4 - P-47 and Hellcat against the overcast.
