Wow, what a neat little project. I built one of those kits as a U-control with a PeeWee .020 engine about 50 years ago.

Will these retracts work: http://www.radicalrc.com/item/GWS-Pi...ear-Set-103988

Also at Hobby King: https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...t_XL_PAIR.html

"Lifer" I will absolutely post a bunch of pictures ... but ... I don't think this is the thread to do that in.

"Radfordc" Thanks for the info on the retracts, My Hobby King list has been getting a little long, so I placed an order today and got the little retracts. We'll see how they look.

I created a new thread in the Kit Building section, please follow it at the link below.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/kit-...l#post11835566

To Everyone ... I love seeing all the P-40's on here, It's all so inspiring.

Here are some pictures of 5 enlarged Jerry Bates P-40B's. The planes were built by a number of builders at the same time, led by Rich Eggleston and painted and detailed by Chuck Hamilton. They have various different engines from 60-75cc. Each plane is modeled after a specific pilot from the AVG "Flying Tigers" squadron. Mine (Tex Hill #48) is flying with a 3W-75. They are excellent flyers and we had the fortune of flying all five together at Warbirds over Michigan last month. The planes now reside in Michigan, Indiana and Minnesota.

Guillow's Build Update ...

Got the stabs, elevator and rudder built and set up this weekend.

More details on the build page I mentioned before.

smurfjet - Loved the 5, P-40's at Warbirds over Michigan. bet that was cool to see them all flying together.

Kevin - She looks great in the air! nice pictures.

Thanks

Nice retracts for a P-51 or a P-47 but not a P-40. The retracts on a P-40 rotate like the Corsair & the Hellcat.

Fly2XS - Yea, I know. They don't pivot 90 degrees.

But ... I was thinking I could set them up like a P-47. Not so much "Scale" for my P-40, (I know, shame on me. ) but, it would still be cool to have retracts none the less.

Hobby king say's the order is about a month out so I won't even know if they will work until then.

I'll keep ya'll posted in the build forum.

Guillow's 501 Kit, P-40 Warhawk Build up for Micro RC

SWORDSN - I'm still at WCRC, I used to live in the 5 Forks area, but now that I'm further south it's not that convenient to get to the field anymore. Lately I've just been flying in my backyard or at Dolly Cooper Park.

Video of AXN Floater jet in my back yard.

I'm thinking about joining Firetower because it's close, and ... I don't really feel like being a "Black Sheep"
PM me and I'll give you my email address.

Thanks,
Björn

Mag
If I still have my tiny great planes mechanical conversions to rotating do you want them for free ? No catch just figured if I have them you can put them to good use .
I have go look to see if there still in my shop , they would have to be micro serco operated but that is not a problem for you

LDM - Wow Thanks, that would be awesome.

But before I call "Dibs" do you think they are small enough to actually be used on this project?
I'd hate to take them if I can't use them.

Thanks

Nice RAD...........

I just am about finished fixing the Vertical Stabilizer on my Skyshark after the ignition failed and I landed in the mud and she flipped.

Hope to get her back up in the air in a few weeks.

I wish all my landings were that good. Today I bounced the landing and knocked the left gear out....again.
