I'm now turning my attention to making the tank/bomb drop cradle, these are the shock struts, they move just don't absorb

Default Staged the P-40 for static Display at Winter Warbirds in Phoenix

I Staged the P-40 for static Display at Winter Warbirds in Phoenix along with my P-38 & P-39 & P-51. The P-51 I flew the others were on display as recognition for the Allison V-1710 engine powering our front line fighters at the start of the war.

Please add my name to the "Brotherhood". I've got a TF P-40E Gold Edition I built about 20 years ago. I've been out of the hobby for about 17 years starting a business and getting children married. I was inspired by AluminumOvercast when I saw him take his P-40 to a higher level of detail and I've got mine out of storage getting refitted and ready for active duty. I removed the Robart retracts and I am installing a new set of Lado electrics. the OS91 is out and a DLE 20RA is going in it's place. I remember needing a little more power last time she was in the air. And, like AluminumOvercast, I'll be adding more detail to make it a little more interesting on the ground. I am really enjoying this thread in the meantime!

Yes, I have the old cowl. due to an engine/muffler change, there are just too many ugly cutouts in it now.

Hang on to it. You may not be able to secure a replacement. In that case, you'll get the opportunity to repair it yourself. Usually, there's somebody in the club with experience repairing fiberglass parts who can help or teach you.

I'm probably one of the last in my club that has ever done any glasswork. The one guy that was expert level has med issues and doesn't come back anymore. I can repair it. but I guess I'm getting lazy. the paint would actually be the hardest part.

Simple, that was a terrific video! I appreciate seeing a scale model flown with scale motions. Combine that with the great lighting and a casual observer would be hard pressed to tell that wasn't the real thing! Your friend did a great job!

The model was flown well, but it was made to look even more realistic by playing the video in slow motion. You can see the same thing in the other videos on the site. Very nicely done.
