I don't fly them a lot, so that's the real explanation for why they last so long. I've just returned from a six year hiatus from RC planes.

What I would like to see is a vinyl in white of just the P-40 (I liked the second one) that I could put on the rear window of my van. Hint, Hint.

I'm sure that is a different process and uses a different material.

Hate to cut in gents. Is there an electric retract option for the Top Flite ARF version? I want one bad but can't do air retracts anymore.

60 size ARF? I'm using EFlite 95 degree rotating retracts in mine and they are working very well.

Was trying to help over there when I saw your post here.

We need to know what kind of retracts. The H9 P40 didn't come with electrics so they could be anything.

If they're the 60-120 95degree EFlites, the slop would just about have to be in the strut attachment. If they're cheap HK ones, it's probably bad design. If Lados or Wingspans etc etc

How about answering in the other forum. It's easier to follow when not buried in a general interest thread, especially one with almost 1400 posts.

Hey Guys,

I have been gone over a year....... Changing jobs - TWICE and moving from Utah to IN will for sure screw up your flying and building........

Did I miss anything??????

My Skyshark P-40 is almost ready to fly again but since it has been in storage for a year I have to go through her top to bottom and replace gas lines and check everything out again.

Will update when she is in the air.........

5 year-old Top Flite P-40 arf. Dle 55 with J-Tech muffler. Decided to try a 3-blade 22x8 Xoar. Looked great on the ground, flew a little slower than the 3-blade 20x10 but really pulled well. Gotta love a P-40.....

Nice. Almost a scale diameter. Scale would be just under 25" for an 86" P-40.

No list of p40 mfgs would be complete without Yellow Aircraft - however I read that they are no longer selling kits - maybe still selling spare parts. I don't know for sure. I still have a p40 and a spitfire in boxes - purchased 8-10 years ago. Well made and reportedly great flying planes. I live in MA...40 miles from the warehouse. Still remember the day I drove up and purchased the two kits from Charles (the owner.) I was drooling over boxes and boxes of 1/5th scale planes.

Gentlemen,

I maidened by TF P40 with no problem the other day except for one thing. I lost one of the dummy exhaust stacks. Cowls are not available at the moment, Does anyone have an Idea for a suitable replacement?

I would like to join this brotherhood. I just ordered the Top Flite Giant Scale ARF and although it will be awhile before I am able to attempt to fly it I plan to convert it to EP.

The plane did well at Top Gun 2016 considering I did not finish two rounds due to the engine quitting 75% through the flight. But none the less I'm so happy with the way it flies. https://youtu.be/zSDb8hlNePk
