The first dummy exhaust set for 1/5 P-40 will be done during next week. Now is done the first five stubs. Set is designed for Top Flite P-40. With some details as inner central strut and weld lines. Each pipe is composed of two pieces which won´t be glued because of the low price.

Does anyone have a set of plans for the Pica 1/6 scale P-40 and Pica 1/5 scale P-40 that you would be willing to make copies of? I bought both kits on Ebay and just discovered the 1/5 scale has no plans and the 1/6 scale only has the fuselage plan. Thanks. Tracy (208) 623-3430 west coast time. Email is [email protected]

Its a Rocket Car!!!
Its a little off subject from the typical P-40 post but my P-40 is waiting for better weather and until then I am keeping busy.
I thought you guys may like to see this.
Its a Rocket Car - I used this way back in the day for airshows with the TRCC Show Team.
This is a short shot on a short grass field, (not a runway) so things fail and that makes for a crazy ride!!!

Pacific Aviation Musium
OK, Back to P-40 stuff,
#21 Pappy "Gregory" Boyington's P-40 proudly displayed last week at this years Pacific Aviation Museum and Warbirds West Airshow along with the Thunderbirds at the "Wings, Wheels and Rotors" event here in Longbeach Ca.
Pacific Aviation Musium Members from Pearl Harbor's Ford Island Museum were on hand to work with the youth on how the future of aviation is being molded by technology advancements while preserving the history & sacrifice our men and woman made and continue to make in active service.
Kenneth "Ken" DeHoff (Director of the Museum) worked tirelessly with the 30k plus crowd as they patrolled through the display area behind the flight lines shared with the Thunderbirds.
What an amazing event only made possible by the tireless efforts of Michael Fetyko of Warbirds West scale flying team. His efforts working with upper echelon military brass ensured the history of aviation and the stories of the people who were there are remembered.
Pictured is the P-40 on display with a scale WWII Chinese ground troop. (Air and ground support for the British & Chinese allies was the focus of the Flying Tigers operation.)
Also Pictured is Ken form Pacific Aviation museum working with the flyers of tomorrow. If you are ever looking up history on Pearl Harbor don't forget to visit the Pacific Aviation museum on Ford Island. www.pacificaviationmuseum.org
Oh Yah! and the Thunderbirds parked at night next to our tent!!
.
Michael will announce the next Warbirds West Event soon - https://www.facebook.com/warbirdswest
We are working on a new show for 2017

I have family in Monroe and while there I visited the museum about a month ago and met General Chennault’s granddaughter. She is the curator. The biggest P-40 model they had was a 36 inch wingspan at best. They had a 5th scale P-47 and 1/4 scale Stinson. This was General Chennaults Flying Tigers Museum and I did not see a Big P-40. When I got home, I emailed General Chennault's granddaughter with a proposal with pics of my P-40 and price to produce a static LX P-40.
These are pics of mine. Just getting started on the museum bird. It will have Tex Hill livery.

Cmp p-40
Love P-40's. Here is a photo of mine. It is a CMP P-40 that I removed the mylar covering and covered it with Koverall. The Koverall is sealed with Nitrate dope and it is painted in Painter's Choice from aerosol cans. I cleared it with Min Wax Polyurethane. It is powered with a Saito 150 four stroke. I added flaps and the retracts are Sierra 60 size 90º. It weights 11.5lbs and I have one flight on it. Hope to get more before the weather up here turns worse. It lands much slower with the flaps.....
