You want a warbird that looks great and fly great I would suggest the Yellow Aircraft P47. Having the wings sheeted and a fiberglass fuselage will save you a ton of time building. The fw190d9 is a good flyer but the long retracts and smallish rudder will need to be getting used to. If you want something smaller then the ESM ARFs would get you started on a tailtragger without too much effort in building.

I buy Ziroli plans and pump them up to what I like then cut my own kit,so far its a 150" AD-1 skyraider witch was started 3 yrs ago,how fun.
