Good point. The hole the wire slides in is filled with epoxy before the wire slides in and then the leading edge is filled with epoxy . The whole elevator assembly is then hinged and glued in. I like to glue the assembly off the stab because I can lock the elevators down to the workbench and put a straight edge on the leading edge to insure both elevator halves are flush and plumb.
