Hi, I am building this P-38 and just curious how everyone attaches the counterbalance on the elevator.

In my build thread, I couldn't find where I installed the counter balance weights but I'm sure I drilled holes in the ends and inserted 4/40 size wire in them and glued them to the elevator. The wire gives them extra strength so they aren't 'snapped off'.
One of the few planes left that I haven't flown yet (but she still looks pretty!).

That may work. That way I can finish the elevator and then add counterbalance. Does it feel sturdy ? Thanks
