Default SERVO SETUP ON 1/5 SCALE PICA P51

I will soon be starting on my old Pica 1/5 scale P51. I was wondering if anyone else here has the same plane or similar. I would like to know what you used for servos and how you have them set up. Dual elevator, dual ailerons, ect, as well as what strength of servos. Also wondering what you are using for power. I want to start ordering what I need, but not sure where to start. Thanks in advance, Ron.

Ron, here's what I did on my 50cc, 20 pound Macchi 202. Each elevator and aileon has its own 50oz servo. Dan

Ron,
I rebuilt one back in 2004, it had originally a Super Tiger 4500 which I replaced by a 3W70. My plane came out at 30lbs and flew great, it is now retired since the wing has around 30 signatures from the 352nd pilots and ground crew.
I use good digital servos in most of my warbirds, in the Pica Mustang I had a combination of JR and Futaba. I have similar sized airplanes and like to use the Hitec 5645MG or better.
Good luck on the project You'll like the plane!

Hi flyingcheif
Fantastic looking plane. I've got one I've been building for 20 years BUT I've lost the build instructions (A4 sheets). Would you still have a complete copy? I'm stuck without them and really want to finish this project. Naturally I'd pay any expenses in getting a copy to me

regards
Duane

Quite a few of the warbird guys I fly with use the Hitec 645 servo with good success and the DLE 55 engines in their 1/5 scale Top Flite Mustangs at 84" ws. http://hitecrcd.com/products/servos/...-servo/product

Also the Top Flite P-51 manual is a good reference on "updated" P-51 type of build http://manuals.hobbico.com/top/topa0400-manual.pdf

Locally in Manitoba we can be found on Facebook under the West Side Warbirds https://www.facebook.com/groups/363673500402494/
cheers - ken k
