Default Oleos from Hobby King

I got these oleo struts from Hobby King. They are set up to take a 1/4" rod. I installed them in Spring Air retracts Robo strut ready for 3/8". I had to drill out a 1/8" to 3/8" adapters to 1/4". They work great. Also I was able to increase the wheel size from 3.25" to 3.75" which really helps on our grass field. Io didn't think to take pictures while installing but here they are installed in my 70" wingspan Toney. The best part is they cost less than $13 each as opposed to Robarts which are $45 to $52 each. I only have two flights on them but so far ok.

They look pretty good. No torque links? They don't appear to have very much compression or shock absorbing ability. Maybe 1/4 inch?

Keep us posted on how they work out!

Here is the link:

My plane weights 10.5 lbs. No problems. I think they could easily handle 15 lbs. Only about 1/2" of travel, but it seems to be enough on our grass runway and for my flying (which requires good landing gear). Just thought I would report these as I didn't know about them and they seem to be of good quality and the price is right.

I was gonna order a tricycle setup but the mains were back ordered. So I passed and ordered from rcskylite instead. Havent received them yet. When HK gets stock, I'll try some of theirs.
