Still building my Platt FW190, since this thread was initially started, she's almost ready for glass.[TABLE]

I'm debating on placing the rear fuse access panel but since I've already placed one hatch, I don't know what it would be used for other then looks and something else to do. I also need to place the tail retract service hatch on the vertical stabilizer since I have a Shindin tail retract.
The wing is pretty much built less detailing which most will come after it's glassed. I'm also not sure weather to make the ETC 501 rack now or after the wing is glassed.

My ESM 50cc 109. About finished and waiting for her maiden. This is my first large scale plane so it will be a nerve-racking moment for me.

Did you do any/many mods to the basic ESM airframe to achieve what you have here?
Well done sir.

Hi Brad.
The two major mods. I've made: first I've cut the front off of the plane infront of the leading- edge. I left a lip of about an inch. Then I glued the cowl to this lip and cut out the oilcooler hatch, just like the real plane. Then I glassed the inside of the cowl with two layers of fiberglas. The front of the plane is completely ridged now. I glued a new firewall in and glassed this also. I mounted all the electronics behind the firewall. I can reach the electronics and the engine through the oilcooler hatch. The second major mod. is that I've glued and glassed the cockpit hatch to the plane. To reach the elevator and rudder servo's I've made a small hatch in the bottem of the plane. It's a litle fidly but o.k.
Greetings kjel

Here some pictures of my mods. The part I've cut off.
How the nose looks now. The pictures were taken during the build so the electronics still looks a little messy.
The hatch at the bottom for access to the elevator and rudder servo's.

"Modified" Meister 109.. Shindin retracts, First Place 5.8 engine, lots of little details.
Started life in Michigan with Ham639. Then I picked up the airframe sans engine several years ago. Some rework, and a repaint of sorts.. and this pic emerged from the Muncie event. It ran in Fly RC magazine.
After a few years, I sold the plane to a gent in California.. I know it's still alive as I just saw a pic of it attending a fly in a magazine as well.
