Just an ol Meister 190A!

Looking into building an 80 some odd inch 190 as well. Fiberglass fuse option would be great! Can't afford the Sist...any idea's?

Bob Holman FW190, 80In.. Glass fuse with foam core wings or get the wood wing kit... You have to call him as the kit isn't on the site.

Count me in guys,
I just popped the mold off of my revamped 1/3 me-109 fuse plug.
Should have my first glass fuse in about a week.
Really nice!

Here is a 1/5 Bf-109 K that I am building and has sat idle for the past year. It has a fiberglass fuselage, foam wings, and a Zenoah G38 for power. Don't throw darts, but the wing that I am working on has fixed gear. I have a second set of cores for Shindin retracts with Lado actuators. I purchased the retracts after staring on the first wing and regret it since the retracts aren't as hard to install after thinkg about it. The big hold up is the intimidation of drilling and cutting the spinner. This thread is making me get started again.

-Brian
What kit is that? I wanted to build a K variant but didn't know of any 1/5th scale kits with those bulges on the fuse sides, so I've gone larger. Are those custom?

It's a pieces parts sport scale kit. I purchased the fuselage from the guy who used to make Ty Brown's fuselages. I've lost his contact information. I purchased the fiberglass K bulges and Erla canopy separately from Ty; forum name fockewulf37. The bulges are assymetrical like the real plane. I emailed the airfoil and wing dimensions to Eureka Aircraft and got a foam wing cut.

Dang, one thing about being in this hobby for a long time is you realize how products can just disappear. I am going to start a Fokker DR 1 soon and GTM has essentially folded up shop. He was THE go to guy for WW1 scale stuff. I wish I was independently wealthy so I could stockpile the things I know I want before they go away.
So this leads me to jump on ordering my Warbird colors paints. I have never used them, but have heard great things. Need to get it before it goes away as well. Sure, I could use house paint, but I really wanted to use Warbird colors. I see RLM 74, 75, and 76 in my future!

Another thing, What have you guys used as clear coats over Warbird colors? I want something that is really flat that I can spray. The formulation has changed on the WC paints and they need a clear coat now. I will be running gas, so this will mainly be to protect and seal the color coats.

Here is my Holman Fw 190A8. Fictional scheme. It started off as a $100.00 find, partially started and badly banged up after years of laying around. I'm pretty happy with how its turned out. It weighs just under 25 pounds as it is before balancing. I hope to get to putting it on the CG stand later today and fiinish up.

1/3 scale? Holy crap. I'd like to see that thing next to a car (or a building...hehehe) for comparison.
Are you using a laminate bulker in the fuselage layup?

Wow that 190 really is looking sharp casey. With a 3 blade prop and the right background in the picture it would be hard to tell it from the real thing.

Tim, the fuse will be a conventional layup but i will be using a small amount of aeromat honeycomb material in areas for strength.

The fuse is a rebuild from my original build. On flight number 6 i over corrected on a take off run that put me into a area of our home clubs petromat runway that was undermined with deep ruts.
After hitting the ruts things got ugly and the plane went home in pieces. The fuse broke up bad but every thing else was pretty much undamaged.

Here is a link for my original build.

The problem is you are never in the air when I am having to deal with all those pesky P47's! Or those short electric flight times leave me on my own. :P

Zipnz1.....I'm heart broken at the pics....glad she will rise from the ashes!  Your compliments mean a lot, thank you sir....

Ram,

I am so happy I let that $100 go!

I'll get it on the CG machine tomorrow and be ready to maiden.  I picked up 24 oz of lead tonight, hope its enough.  I really want to end up between 26 and 1/2 to 27 lbs...we'll see tomorrow...

Here is my KMP 190 D-9 cockpit that got paint today, and Hienz got some refining from his original uniform colors.

Lol...the D9 can fly for 8 mins and often times, your messin with your gas engine and cant get it started for some reason and I have to defend the Reich on my own. By the time you get the motor started, Im already half out of "fuel".

However, Im hoping the Do-335 will be able to fly a little longer then the D9 with larger batteries. Plus...the BH stuka is wet powered, just need to get it maidened....and the 70" ESM fw-190A is wet powered also.

The hangar 9 me-109 should be able to fly for 10mins even on electric.

Wanted to alert some of you guys to some pre-painted pilot busts for those that dont want to do a full cockpit. They cost almost nothing....$12.

I am building a TF FW 190, removed covering and glassed it. does anyone know where I can get a fiberglass gun hood that will fit it ? After discovering this thread I have defected. I may have to change my p-47's and 51's to axis markings.

On my TF Giant FW190, I used the bulges from the Bob Holman FW190A gun hood and moded them to fit onto the TF gun hood.
