Thanks Vertical, She's coming along slowly.. That stuka is very tempting. I know I've wanted something different and that does fit the bill. Maybe I'll put this Meister D9 back in the box and get me one.. Would definitely look good in the collection!

last photos for the night. After placing her on her legs, she's got a little wobble with those Century jet gear.. It'll be interesting landing..

Well, I got intrigued by this bird, so did some research and am designing gear for it. I'm currently doing mine at 6th scale, but will probably do 1/5 or others too later... Yours is 1/5.2? Is that based on some hardware limit or just a nice max wing size or? The real thing has some "complexities" to it as the mains were fabricated sheet not machined.. This makes the mains really tough to do right, but I think I have it figured out. Will require some "3d machining" which also means I need some new software to cut some of the parts. I'm still working on it, and just started the nose gear yesterday, but here's where it is so far. I should be able to make it just as shown but the main uprights (I call them "Cactus Arms") will be a real bear to make.

I have an item that may be of interest to this thread. I am currently having conversations with a gentleman with a 3D printer. He is going to send me a prototype for an MG 151/20 Cannon. This is the gun used in the FW 190 at the wing roots, and also the TA 152. I want to have these to create scale internal wing detail, with that hatch operable to expose these details on my TA 152 build.
When I get the prototype, I will post some pics. It will be in 1/5th scale, but any scale will be possible. My price will be $15. Very reasonable I believe. I am sure that the guns that go under the hood will be possible as well, as that seems like it would be a popular item for those wanting to add detail there. The more modelers that are willing to purchase these, the more justification he will have to produce them.

Awesome. I'd be interested in a 1/5th set.

Coolio...

Just finishing up the nose gear design. Its pretty complex with the rotating and swiveling bits. Will be a bit before I do 1/5 scale version though.

That is the unpainted kit. They have some good products. Now I just have to replicate the rest of the cockpit. I will do all of that from scratch, as it does not seem there is anything available that is worth a darn.

VG,
The side panels come from them too. What else will you replicate? I heard their seat is too large for the scale size.

this is for a Ziroli Stuka. unless you know something I do not, they do not have the side panels. The Rudder pedals and gunsight are good, and I will be getting those. Also the MG 15 they sell is awesome. I already have that. Replicating the rest of the cockpit will not be tough, I have a plastic model cockpit to copy. They come in handy for scale modeling.

Hmmm, now that sounds interesting! How about some scale metal guns? I wonder if I could make them work at that scale?

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

what or which gunsight are you thinking of? The stuka used a Revi C12C or C12D, which look identical. The gunsight I see offered by Propag Team is a Revi 16 B I believe, not used in the stuka. These are pics of the Revi C12 D

Well, in spite of what many believe, that level of accuracy is not needed for the AMA nationals of Scale masters, which is where I compete. Unlike FAI or designer scale. Nobody is gonna know the difference between those sights or many other details for that matter. So for the sake of actually gretting the project completed, you have to draw the line somewhere. I feel it is more about creating a convincing impression. So......to me the Iflytailies offering will suit my aircraft just fine. We shall see what Scale cockpits comes up with. I have one of the Iflytailies gun sights for my TA 152 and it is very nice. I am sure it could be Doctored up to match the Revi 12c, just fine.
