I'll be painting the fuse this weekend. I need more items to complete the wings before paint.

Thats my CMPRO ZERO 120.
Its an old model with many-many flights , i had two serious crashes during past years , i rebuild it ( its about 9 kgr!!!! total weight, now) but it flies really nice (i made a pair of split flaps for slower landings though) and made her a "heavy" weathering as you can see.

Problem with your weathering
makes it so I don't know if it is a real one or a model

GREAT JOB

Almost all Japaneese planes were very weathered
anyone know if it was because of the paint they used or humidity??

USA planes were weathered but not as much
same humidity

I read somewhere that the extreme weathering that Japanese Planes developed were a combination of exsessive use as the Planes were pushed into continuous service; and that the Paint/Primer and Technique was poor and adherance was not great; poor quality of paint and technique

have CMPro 50cc Zero. She hasn´t flown yet, but the weight with DLE 55 is more than 12 kg! I think, she is too heavy. I was necessary to add approximately weight of 2 kg in the nose.

Thanks. That's awesome, I definitely look forward to seeing your TA.. I'm burning the midnight oil on this one. The Anton will be finished over the winter.

We never did get to fly together this year. It was really busy for me with the Nats and all of the other events.

I have a little surprise. I am working on having our club host the Scale Masters championship this next summer. That would be super cool!

This is great news VG and I hope for a positive outcome! I heard rumours of Texas which would probably not be doable for me unless it was far west Texas. Colorado on the other hand just might be workable. Heck, I'll probably already be there for WoTR anyway! Of course all of this assumes I can get qualified again. Doh!

I was approached by the west coast VP, as we are in a good location. We have a great flying site as well. And yes, getting qualified is the kicker! I plan to go to the AMA Nats again, but honestly, that is a tough qualifier. I may look into an earlier one close by. I just have to find one. I should know within a month or two for sure.

Hey guys,

with a stroke of good luck I scored these molds yesterday....

A turbine flying mate texted me and told me he had bought a few molds of a guy about 5hrs away from here and then offered to either lend or sell me these!

I bought them just in case I damage it.
Trying to get more info on it but about the same size as the CjM one, ( but different wing fillet)

thanks

dave

Come on down to Phoenix for the "Gunsmoke" qualifier VG. It is generally a pretty low key event with moderate participation, although we do generally have some of the "heavy hitters" from SoCal to contend with!

When is that? I may just have to do it. I had heard there was an event down there, and was going to try to find something fairly close.

Dang, I just have to get this blasted airplane done! I want to have it flying by May, to get any kinks worked out. You know they always do!

May will be too late VG. Not sure that the 2015 dates have been set yet but Gunsmoke is usually the last weekend in February or the first weekend in March. And it generally takes me about two years to get all the kinks worked out of a new scale ship!

I know Chad isn't referring to me when he says "heavy hitters" unless he's referring to my weight and the fact that my landings are typically dramatic with all kinds of parts flying off the plane...

I will see if I can pull it off. If anything else, I will fly the old reliable Fokker again. It has done well in the past. And I think you are right, it does take years to get these things working perfectly! What a commitment we embrace with these models!
