Did not mean to be so blunt on the last post, but had to take our girl to the airport, what I would suggest is a pits rap around I am using Bisons and Jtec good luck with both, the bison's for some reason seam to be a bit quieter

No, I was happy to just get a response finally! I have the J-tech one for the P-51, but was hoping to use a stock one. Seems like if it won't work it's so 'barely' a miss, I might just do it anyway. Looks like I might be able to either do a blister or even heat the sucker up and push on it.

Yes and very thin. If you cut it expect it change over time with the heat, even the edges of the head opening changed.
If you looked at my old post regarding the cowl flap mod I did what happened over time was the segments flattened out. If I did that mod again I would sand and back them with epoxy and carbon fiber so they keep the shape once cut.
