Default Desert Pink P-40 images….

Just for kicks I plan to strip the camo off a TF .60 size P-40 ARF I picked up From Tower Hobbies Scratch & Dent (damaged fin and prune covering) and redo as Pink P-40. I'll keep the gray bottom as it is interestingly wrinkle free. Pink Lustercote, for the cowl and canopy inset, matches well as I have used it in the past

I easily located online photos of Sue Parrish’s version but I recall seeing others, just cannot turn them up in a search.

I took some 35mm slides in the late 70’s at a central California air show of a pink P-40 that was, I believe, flown in by famed WASP Jackie Cochran but I would have to go through hundreds of slides to find them. The same air show hosted Pappy Boyington and Saburo Saki signing autographs and I have photos of them too.

I know Monokote Circus Pink is bright and would fit Parrish’s version but the one I photographed in the 70’s was just as bright.

If anyone has links or color scans of desert pink P-40’s I will appreciate a heads up.

Sounds kind of cool, are you planning on a pink cammo or the full blown pink version? Post pics while your doing it, it's always good to do something out of the norm...

Where can you find an accurate paint chip of true dessert pink. The color was improvised.

Wartime pink was faded / weathered desert sand. Not an FS color.
