Hi, I'm looking for the rails for the sliding canopy, I got one for my Black Horse Corsair (same size). There were no rails in the box.

Can I get them separately or is it a standard rail I can buy somewhere else ?

Thanks

The rails are part of the fuselage.

Here is a rail set that you can buy that will fit any size warbird. If you are building the hanger9 60cc corsair they are already built into the airframe.

I maidened mine yesterday (Memorial Day). All went well. 31 LBS (Includes 4 lbs of lead in the nose). Zenoah ZP 62 for power. The engine is still breaking in (4 tankfuls) so I didn't feel the power that I would've liked, but that should change. Didn't see any unfavorable tendencies. Thanks to all my fellow South Carroll club members for support and Pics.

Regards,

Oriole

I have a NIB G-62 sitting in my man cave waiting for my Hangar 9 Corsair to arrive. Will enjoy this build thread when I get the kit. Anyone recommend what additional stuff I should order now since my kit was on backorder since DEC 2013!

Retracts?
Gear?
etc....

Finally got to maiden my girl last Sunday. Flew great, for 3 minutes...engine conked out and had to dead stick. Minor damage (lost the gear doors...dumb thumb....pilot (me) forgot to put the gear doors up once the gear was up) and lots of mud...looks kinda weathered now...

link to a short video of the maiden and far, far away landing...gear up of course...LOL

CaptRKO,

Using an EME60, with their starter. Will fit a DLE55 too. Don't believe it will work with the G62. Was swinging a 23X10 Biela 3 blade warbird prop at 6700 RPM. Lots of power... Starting system uses a brushed motor, and a set of gears with a one way gear for freewheeling of the prop once she starts. Pretty slick set up...got it from MileHigh RC...just check out their EME60, and you can't miss it. Maybe if you are much more mechanically inclined, you can adapt the starter (about $100) to the G62...Hope this helps!

I'll probably skip the electric start to save some weight....love the 3 blade prop. Starting to write some build notes and still waiting for my kit.

The weight is all the way forward up front where you need it ??!! The Starters work great but the gears will cause the fake engine to be removed unless you use a hub extension.

Looks like the release of the new kits is late August! Ouch! Anyone know if they might come earlier?

Maidened the plane that I put togheter for a friend this weekend and must say its a great flyer.. Evo 77 with ignition conversion from CH-ignitions and the engine rips a 24x10 prop...need to get a 24x12 prop to load the engine some more as it easily exceeds max rpm with a 24x10. Video will follow.

And here is the video: this was probably the 3rd flight...really nice flyer, just need a new prop, maybe a 3 blade will make it look better too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM4McMUgTk8 Also here is the video from our Warbird event this past weekend if anyone would like to watch.

Nice videos. Thanks for the WoE-2014 video. Lots of nice looking planes. Quite a helicopter also.

I was balancing my corsair today and was more or less shocked. I need with the Evo Radial + 2 x 2s 2500mah LifePo direct at the firewall 350g in the top of the cowel with empty fuel tank. I put all batteries a.s.o. direct next to the fuel tank. Is this normal? The Radial weight the 650g more than the ZG62 they refering in the manual to!

While I'm waiting for shipment of my Corsair from Horizon, I built a test stand for my Evolution 7-77 radial and after reading the recommended break-in procedure, I wonder where I can find glow fuel with 0% nitro? I can add the recommended oil content but can't find any fuel with 0% nitro - closest I could find is 5% nitro. Any ideas?

If you can find the 5% with 17-18% oil you can mix this with 1 gal of pure methanol and you'll end up with 2 gals of 2-1/% nitro/9% oil and that would work great for you. You can also order from Ritches Brew out of Houston some premixed fuel for these engines.
