I read earlier 250mm. The new saito radial 84cc will just fit but not if add right thrust.

Well, $1713.91 later and she's all on order...
I have an adopted grandfather figure that helped raise me that flew one of these, I'll be modeling it after his Corsair in his honor. For years, I wanted the TF version but it just didn't look right so thank you Horizon/ Hanger9 for this one.

Does anyone know a company that can take a picture and make me a pilot figure for this?

Ram, I have just the right guy for you. Lyle from Bestpilots will fix you right up.. If you have a front and side view of the man Lyle can have the head made for you and put it on his Pappy Boyington body along with the helmet, goggles etc.
I got a similar guy but I used Robert Conrad's face! lol.. Looks great by the way!

Ram what did you buy for $1713.91?
Plane, retracts, shipping?
Will you do a build thread on this one?

Retractable Tail wheel: F4U-1D Corsair 60cc, Shipping is free on this one, I don't know why and I didn't ask..

As you know, I only do FW190's so I have no experience with this one so I won't be doing a build thread. Customer service told me not to expect the airframe until early to mid august, just when we're moving but by then, I should have everything else for the plane so it'll be after we get situated that I even start this..[&o]

Any Thoughts on the Evolution gx80 or Zenoah gt 80 I have the plane ordered, and these 2 engines sitting in my workshop .
I'm leaning toward the EVO 80 and Im pretty sure the Zenoah would be a squeeze fit if at all possible . I'm guessing the Horizon crew didn't choose these for a reason, being they have access to them .
Anyone ever run a EVO 80 vs a Da 85 from what I found it seems like the 80 is a powerful engine .

Lets see.. 56lbs of static thrust, max. The Corsair may weigh 30lbs or so.. maybe if you want to do 3D warbird flying.. otherwise. I wouldn't.

It won't fit without some clearance holes cut in cowl, from what people have been saying . But if it fits I would use it - Once I get a cowling in my hand I will try it

From the info I have seen the DLE 60 twin won't fit unless the cowl is cut a little for the plug caps. And to me that would be perfect as It has right at 33 pounds static thrust. That will probably be my engine of choice if I can figure away to modify the cowl. Maybe form little humps like blisters over the caps.

I do have one question on the retracts. Are they 90 or 100 degree?

The retracts are the stock Robart's and are 100 degrees.

Cool! Thank you. I believe this is going to be my winter project for next spring. I have the 30cc P-47 that I want to do first as soon as I get home. That one is going to be my fall project.

I had a Da 85 in a 1/4 P40 and it vibrated, but checking with DA and I found mine was an early model that could be sent in for free update to minimize vibration. I did and it worked to reduce vibration and now does not vibrate any more then any single producing close to 10 hp, I would check if you have an early model, good luck.

Has anyone tried the new DLE85 that comes with a anti-vibration mount?
