I traded for this plane, no idea how many flights it has on it. I've put around ten, and the electric gear is driving me nuts. Just a matter of time before one of the mains won't come back down and I destroy it. Last flight, tail wouldn't come down.... Sitting on the bench, the gear are bipolar.... sometimes they cycle, sometimes they don't. I have an electron controller, but the travel is different and won't go all the way. Has Robart made any improvements with the controller??

They have made updates to the controller. They have had all kinds of troubles with them. Their electric gear are just as you say bi-polar.
You could adapt the gear to air and be done. They can set you up with what you need.

Air all the way! Most reliable and for sure use large tanks and a smaller one any place you can fit it because the volume makes them more reliable and positive than with less air volume.
Mine are going on 10 years without any problems!

Has anyone found a can of rattle can spray paint that comes close to matching the corsair blue on this plane? I have a set of drop tanks that were made via 3d print I'd like to try to get a close match. Thanks!

Humbrol has a navy blue, close but not perfect but not a spray. You can also order personalised spray in a paint car dealer. It cost around 30 USD in Switzerland, I did for another plane

Friend of mine did a scale Bell 407 in automotive rattle cans that he had paint matched, even two part clear. It's almost indistinguishable in pictures from the real thing.

Hi, I usedTamaya TS-15 and it is pretty close. Paint black under it or you will end up having to do few quotes.

Default Hangar 9 60cc Corsair and Robart Electric Retracts

Mr John Redman, is there anyone still building and flying the Hangar9 60cc Corsair? If so, are the Robart 150 electric retracts being used and have they been successful?
I've read a lot of post and reviews on the failure of the electric actuators.
I have the Corsair, FG90, and am installing the Robart retracts.
Thanks, Hoyt M

John is long gone from Horizon.

Default Hangar 9 60cc Corsair cockpit and Corsair blue paint

Hi, I am continuing on with my corsair and have found the included plastic cockpit to be very brittle. I cracked the floor panel side and one of the side panels. Is there someone out there making corsair cockpits? Also, where can I find some Corsair blue touch up paint? I did finally go with Robart's pneumatic retracts.
Thanks

I'd just glue up the cracks with some thin CA and move on. It would be hard to tell once the canopy is on and there's a pilot in there. You might be able to get a cockpit kit from Dynamic Balsa. It won't be cheap and will be a lot of work to finish and install. Use the one piece canopy. On my first one I lost two of the sliding canopies in flight and gave up on that. Cool idea but poor engineering on those things. I took a piece of the blue (gear door or something) to home depot and they color matched the paint pretty close, not perfect but close. It would be OK for touch up.

As the flying season approaches I’d like to ask that if anyone has an unfortunate accident that they list their Corsair parts for sale in this forum. As parts become extinct it may really help another modeler out! Blue Skies!

Default FG90 Electronic Ignition Placement?

I just installed the FG90 onto my H9 Corsair and don't see any room for the electronic ignition. Does anyone have pictures of their installation or can tell me where they mounted theirs?
I bought this Corsair years ago from a buddy who built it with a DLE55 but was afraid to fly it. Therefore, years ago I bought an extra cowl (as I knew I would need one) and an extra Dummy Radial Engine (which I will not need)

Default New Dummy Radial Engine - available

I have a new in the bag Dummy Radial Engine if someone needs one. The list price was $18, so how about $15 plus shipping?

You can fit it in the little lower battery compartment behind the firewall
