Default A rare sighting

Yesterday while I was in Greensboro, NC I heard a destinctive sound. I ran out and looked up and there she was...........FIFI (B-29) doing touch and goes at PTI. I saw her come around 2-3 times.

A couple of years back, when a B17 and B24 were giving rides out of Winston Salem Smith Reynolds Airport, their flight path was directly over the house. Since they were leisurely flights, they were low as well.

Awesome to see the B24's wings at that angle.

Also, a neighbor has a T6 he flies every so often. Most flights include some showing off over the clear area below the neighborhood. It's all low-g stuff, but still is fun to watch.

There always seems to be something to see in Nawth Klina.

Some 15 or 20 years ago, B-17 Aluminum Overcast was flying over my workplace, on the way to the Peoria Airport for an exhibition. I happened to be driving the company Suburban with a bunch of other people when I heard it. Looked outside and saw the plane, told the other folks "Here's an opportunity to see a B-17 Bomber right overhead" and I stopped the vehicle & got out to watch. It seemed like it was at about 1000 feet, very close, very visible, and very loud!

We watched it until it went out of sight, and talked about it for days. Wish I'd had a camera!

Cool pictures, Anthony!

very cool mate. Only think close I have seen was a Hudson bomber coming in on finals at Kingaroy in QLD, the access road ran right past the approach runway so we pullded the car up in line with the runway and the Hudson came right over the top so close you could almost touch it.
