Hello,
Working hard on getting my Top Flight P51B ready for this event and the flying field too. Looking forward to seeing those who have attended in the past and meet new pilots who come for the first time. The field is looking good and the rain we have gotten will help green it up some. The wide and long runway with the wide open spaces here make for a great place to fly so if you get a chance to come I think you'll have a great time flying here.

Bandit Leader came up on the short end of our reenactment last year. Red Raider and his P-40 got on his tail and wouldn't let up. :-)))
Really looking forward to this year's event. I've already taken off work, charged up the old Warhawk, and tightened up the duct tape. Even working at the event we have a lot of fun. If you get a chance, come join us. Great flying site, great bunch of guys to fly with, and one of the best sponsor clubs around.

Gentlemen:
Please welcome Joe Nelson of Southwest Aerovista Hobbies to West Texas Warbirds! He will be on site with his mobile store. Joe is as nice a guy as they come and is very knowledgable in the gasoline engine department. I know from personal experience!

Bryan,
I was gearing up to attend, but the RC gods are conspiring against me! My 108" Kellogg TBM Avenger, 100" C-ARF Mustang and my 116" GST F7F Tigercat are all currently out of commission, each in need of repairs/modifications/tuning and testing (and recertification in the case of my 69lb Tigercat). Unfortunately for me, there's just not enough free time in my schedule to get any of them airworthy prior to your event.
Next year for sure! Good luck with the event, and I look forward to seeing pictures!

Several Wings club members and I spent the better part of the morning and afternoon on getting the field groomed to perfection. It always gets me excited to see the field this time of year. We've had enough moisture this summer that its pretty green, and August temps have been unusually mild. Today was around 88 degrees with a 10 mph breeze right out of the south and right down the runway. A flier's dream! Long range weather looks similar without any predicted fronts on the way.
Those of you on the fence about coming should definitely make plans to come on out!! You'll be glad you did.

Hey, Everybody! Well, its the eve of the big weekend and the field looks awesome. I have 23 WTW logo flags up for decoration and it would make even Frank Tiano envious! WOW, already starting to fill in! Have guys here from Tucson, Phoenix, DFW area and Arkansas. Expecting our Sooner Squadron buddies from Oklahoma tomorrow. Will be a good time seeing all of them again! Have some really nice planes here already with more military turbine aircraft. We really wanted to host more turbine fliers since the huge runway and open area is just perfect for it. Looks like I'll get my wish. Come on out and join in the fun!!!

Well, here are some pictures that I took with my cell phone camera. Non of the flying shots came out as well as I had hoped. One or two are ok. Mostly the pictures of being up close to the models are the ones that came out best for me this year. My original camera bit the dust this year and I have not yet been able to get a new camera to replace it. Wind changed directions and speed from this morning to the afternoon.
Enjoy...
Enjoy...
