I had a pretty good flying day but bent a strut. Totally my fault. I kept wanting to plant the tail early on touchdown and I sent it airborne again and plopped it down. Little bit of a crosswind so I think that’s what made me rush it. Does anyone know if this strut is a 145 series or just an older 622 strut with the threaded tubes? The new 622 don’t have them.I bought these second hand off an old top flite kit.I called robart and left a voicemail so I’ll see if the top ole is are interchangeable. I really like the threaded tubes perpendicular to the scissors for door mounting.

Has anyone have ever used a different brand covering that matches the Monokote Aluminum color on the P51? I want to purchase Hobbykings Solid Silver or Bright Silver, but wasn't sure if their color matches the Monokote. Thanks.

I like the Brushed aluminum from Hanger 9, looks like real polished aluminum, has a grain that needs to be oriented.

Hello all. Has anyone used the aileron differential called for in the manual? I've searched this thread and saw no mention of it. If you have, what kind of handling differences did you see?

Thanks!

I'd search for a Byron prop system,, you might be able to adapt that to electric

Check out www.aircraftinternational.com. They carry Biela scale props in 4 blade versions in many different blade styles and sizes.

I received my replacement wing from horizon today. It arrived in perfect condition and the covering is absolutely flawless. No ironing required, although it will be a shame when I tear it off and glass it for paint. I’ll do the mods to the gear mounts again. I doubt the shear webs have been upgraded (I say added) as they really aren’t structural in this wing. It was thin balsa on the last wing like a build gig. Ply will be added

Does anyone happen to have instructions or a pdf on doing the scale wing dihedral mod? I have the scale sierra landing gear with 85 degree cams.

Five years later, I know

I've been flying mine for 5 years without making any mods or needing any repairs to the wing in any way, I'd estimate well over 100 flights
