The show was superb - This was my first year participating in this event, I was there both Friday and Saturday with my Top Flite Giant Spitfire. Had a great time flying and meeting a lot of great folks in what was absolutely perfect weather.

Sorry Sysiek, I haven't been a big fan of the turbine planes so I didn't get any pictures of those. I did see them fly several times, I think the yellow/red eurofighter flew the most and it was impressive. It's just hard for them to do much with the wide variety mix of traffic. I'll ask one of the guys I was with if he got any pics and post them if he has them.

The 2 Spits are owned by Chuck and Lee from Indiana, built up from Ziroli plans. I believe 3W75's for engines.

Those were the cream of the crop in my opinion from the weekend. Those spits are how a warbird is supposed to look. It takes a lot of work to make a plane look that ugly....in the right way. I was impressed with those spits, and the Zirolli Corsair by Samparfitt. If they ever come up on the market.....look me up

Yes, and I just don't think you can top Chuck's airbrush, etc. skills. Wish I had just a bit of them.

Thanks guys! I agree, a warbird should look like she's been flown hard and put away wet

Hope to see JQ and Jim at Muncie in a week.

Ram-bro,

Both Spits are painted using latex. Maybe on my next build, an F4F Wildcat, I will go into how I paint an A/C to get it to look like I do. I tend to do things a little different than most.

Anyways, if you are at Muncie or Elkhart Fly-Ins coming up, make sure to stop by and we can chat.

Cheers,
