Default Canopy Removal

I would like to remove a canopy from a warbird that is well attached with Pacer Canopy Glue. I wrote the company but they haven't responded. Any help would be appreciated!

I've removed them without fuss using a double edge razor blade. They are one thin piece of metal. The glue is not hard, and slices quite easily. Like most modeling techniques, it takes a little while to learn what to do and what not. There is a touch to it.

So, are you just wiggling it between the fuse and the canopy?

I have had great success with a small (orange) GWS electric prop. It is very thin, flexable and SHARP. Just work it under the side of the canopy and carefully slice it free...

Thanks to you both. I'll use a combination of both ideas.

I have used a thin, dull kitchen knife with a slightly heated blade. Heated using a covering heat gun or hair dryer. Doesn't have to be very hot. reheat it once it cools such that its not working well. As mentioned above there is a learning curve.

Thanks for your input as well! The plane involved is a Tarheel Hal that flies terrific. I was impatient last winter and finished the plane without a pilot on board. The seat was plastic and not really solid enough to support the Iflytailes pilot. I've imagineered a means to reinforce the seat and after that I will mount the pilot.

Always nice to get help!!!!!
