Thank you Duplicator, but now I´am very angry with the retract. Two flights- two failures.

I glued new front parts of the ribs and new retract mounting. This mounting is almost done. The sheeting of the leading edge I strutted with piece of hard paper and I put a piece of balsa infront of the L.E.

Prekin, congratulations! The Dauntless looks great in flight. Sorry to see the retract problems, hopefully you have that fixed now and will have many successful flights in the future.

Thank you Steve and I hope so, I´ll have many successful flights and happy landings. Now it looks like I could fly my Dauntless this weekend.

Casey, I´m happy, you like my Dauntless.

Repairing works are almost done. Last morning I made edge for the sheeting connecting and before some minutes I glued sheet of balsa.

Today I´ve done the sheeting of leading edge and tomorrow I´ll cover it by a covering film.

Prekin,

Make sure you coat the landing gear mounts and all the nooks and crannys around the mounts with 30 Min. Epoxy. I had the same issue you had.

Oriole, thank you for your advice. The landing gear mounts seemed too fragile, so I coat with CA glue, but in my case it was problem of the metal parts. Now I´m wiser and would check thi retract before each take-off.

Finally I passed some flying action without any accident or crash. This warbird flies very nice, and during a take-off behaves as real bomber very laaaazy move up, but I didnd´t roll out with full of power. My Dauntless is a little bit heavy, so during the approach he lose the speed very slowly, so landing is long. For the next flights I want to set flaps and aerodynamic brakes. But before it I have to buy new receiver, because I don´t have any free channel in my one.

Hi all, I´m going to make a scale rear gunner. Does anybody have some picture of gunner´s combat dress? I´m not sure, that they had the same combat dresses as pilots.

Hi Mate,

What did u set your COG at?

I read some where the 125mm from the book is incorrect.

Thxs

Original plan says, that you have to set COG 125 mm from leading edge of the outer part of the central part of wing. I set COG to 110 mm.

Prekin, your SBD looks really nice. I hope i will finish mine soon. How about the engine you have on the model ? I am going to put FS-a155 4 stroke.

Thank you eskiserhan for the kind words. I have JC 28 EVO in my Dauntless. I wanted some smaller and less powerful engine, for ex. some 23 up to 25 cc engine. I wasn´t able to buy some another engine with similar dimensions. Now I know, there are some guys who have some 20 cc engines 1800 mm wingspan warbirds.

Does the ESM Dauntless have any open structure on the wings or stabilizer? Or is it all sheeted?
Thank you.

Yes it is all balsa sheeted, but only a small part of the wing is without balsa sheets.

Prekin,

It's all sheeted unless you are referring to the dive breaks which have the scale perforated holes.
