Craig, we occasionally see one from the British Royal Navy, would yours be decorated after the Australian Royal Navy or Air Force? Any build would be neat, but one of those would be awesome.

hi guys,

well I have been looking but I cant find a RAN or RAAF Hellcat. if you know of any I would be pleased to know about them, otherwise one alternative is the F6F-3,BuNo 40467 white 19 off USS Intrepid flown by Alex Vraciu, I really like the 3 colour scheme

alternatively and since I have a young daughter, one of the red f6f-5k hellcats from operation cross roads with a pink tail would certainly win some brownie points.

cheers

Craig

This is about as close to authentic although the E-Bay seller states the RAN did not have these planes:

Painted with Tamiya and Vallejo paints, Johnsons Klear gloss coat and Vallejo Satin clear final coat. After market decals. A lot of time and work has gone into this model. Approx. 14cm long x 18cm wide.
What could have been looks realistic enough that unless in a scale contest, who'd know?

Just picked up an old school Byron Hellcat. This needs a complete going through since it still has Byron nyrods for the elevators and rudder. I will be changing everything around and refinishing the whole airframe. This is a complete model with a G 62 on a Purr power muffler mount. Robart retracts. I had one of these before and they fly awesome. Here are some pics.
Thanks,
Fred

New owner of my yellow Ziroli F6F Hellcat, Emmanuel modeler from Belgium, made first flights...

He don't change much on model, put his Multiplex receiver, Engel 24x12 propeller and Power Box electronic...

Wish him many nice flights and good landings...

Regards from Senta, Serbia

Mirce

P.S. Check surface, I still offer all you need for panel lines, rivers, dummy screws and all details for surface on fuselage, wing and tail sections... More details on my web site...

After a lot of weeks of finishing up some arf's and some other work that had to be done, i can finally see my way back to working on the Ziroli Hellcat.
I recall i was worried about the wing incidence and had ordered the long Robart bar. After putting it back together this morning and checking the incidence it is exactly where it is supposed to be per the plans. I can't remember why i thought the incidence was not correct but that worry is now passed. What is here is spring, finally. Work on the Hellcat will be limited once again, just can't stand being in the workshop on a nice day.... Now i just have to remember.... what is next?
